The space between takeoff and impact zone offers so many possibilities. Grab control of the moment with our Rubicon Rider. It gives you warmth, breathability and a design that encourages the freedom to charge. The Rubicon Rider manages the extremes of warm interior and cold exterior by combining a breathable and highly durable soft-shell fabric (to vent high-output moisture) with stay-warm-when-wet insulation (to keep you dry and mobile) and burly waterproof/breathable reinforcements (for storm protection). Made of supple, 100% polyester ripstop, the shell has a DWR (durable water repellent) finish to snub wind and moisture. Inside, a soft layer of compressible Thermogreen® polyester (90% recycled) insulation adds heat to icebox temperatures. Tough 2-layer, H2No® Performance Standard panels, made of 100% recycled polyester with a waterproof barrier and a Deluge DWR finish, beef up the shoulders, elbows and bottom hem to increase storm performance and protect from abrasion. Finer points include pit zips, an easy-gliding liner, a zip-off powder skirt (with webbing loop that attaches to any Patagonia® snow pants), a removable, helmet-compatible hood with a single-hand adjustment and zippered pockets: two handwarmers, two chest (one with secure media pocket with cable routing), one internal drop-in and one internal stash. With an embedded RECCO® avalanche rescue reflector and an articulated, feminine silhouette.
  • Durable, polyester ripstop fabric is breathable and water-resistant; 2-layer waterproof/breathable reinforced panels over shoulders, forearms and bottom hem prevent wet through and increase durability
  • Lightweight, compressible 150-g Thermogreen® insulation stays warm even when wet
  • Removable helmet-compatible hood has an easy-to-use, single-hand adjustment; soft microfleece panels at back of neck and chin; pit zips quickly release heat; articulated arms increase mobility
  • Removable, lightweight stretch-woven powder skirt; snap secured webbing loop at center back connects to any Patagonia® Snow pants
  • Zippered pockets: two handwarmers; two chest; one napoleon which includes secure media pocket with cable routing; one internal drop-in for goggles or gloves; one internal zippered stash
  • Adjustable low-profile cuff secures over or under gloves; drawcord hem; drawcord exits into handwarmers for adjustment
  • Hidden RECCO® reflector

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.
