Organic Cotton

In 1996, with an increased awareness of the dangers of pesticide use and synthetic fertilizers in growing conventional cotton, we began the exclusive use of organically grown cotton in all of our cotton products.

The quality of organic cotton is equal to or better than conventionally grown cotton, yet organically grown methods support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, improve the quality of soil and often use less water. Growing organically takes more time, requires more knowledge and skill, and, for now, costs more. But it’s worth it.

To ensure we are buying cotton that is organic as defined by the USDA’s National Organic Program, we require numerous certificates issued by an accredited third-party certification body for every step of the supply chain, from farm to factories.

Women's Sandlapper Cover-Up is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is made for wet suit change outs! I bought this item thinking it was a swim suit cover up.... I didn’t understand why the arms were so large and open or why it was SO much larger than a normal cover up would be. I read the descriptions and this is truly designed for changing out of a wet suit. it is designed to have room to get your arms in and out and unzip and undress yourself while still being fully covered. For that I give it 5 stars it’s excellent quality and for wet suit changing it is perfect!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Horse blanket This beach cover up is heavy, clunky and shapeless. Not flattering, more like a stiff tent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I bought this a few months ago and have been using it during my trips to the pool for tri training. Yes, it's runs large, but I found that the size is helpful when you are changing out of your swimsuit. You won't win any fashion awards wearing this thing, but it is super comfortable and very absorbent. I like it so much that I bought a second one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile and comfortable! I live in the Caribbean and needed a solid beach cover-up that would keep me warmer into the evening when on the beach. This has been great so far! I wish it was a bit longer but I am taller than most. The pocket is great for storing my phone or other goodies and the material is soft. So glad I purchased this!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Big in size, but quality product I am 5'5" and about 130 lbs and needed the extra small. I originally ordered a medium and it was HUGE, but Patagonia's amazing return/exchange policy made it easy for me to get it in an XS and I can't wait to rock it all summer long!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great quality, big size difference Its a beautifully made garment and is really comfortable. BUT! I ordered a Medium and it turned out to be giant. Not sure if this was designed as such but I returned it for an XS if that gives you an idea about the difference.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs large but SO functional I am regularly about a size 2, 5'5 and 120lbs. I bought the Sandlapper in an XS last spring as an easy coverup for when I'm chasing around my toddler and too busy to towel dry myself. I have used this at the lake, beach, boat and pool and it is the first item I choose for any water adventure. It definitely runs large, it isn't a fashion piece or for showing off my figure, that's what a bikini is for I suppose! I'm now 6 months pregnant and still wearing it in Hawaii with the waist hiked up a bit to fit above my belly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too Big I love patagonia and can only say GREAT things about their products. I don't think I have ever bought anything I did not love. I have a very petite frame and wear an xs. When I took the coverup out of the bag I couldn't believe how large it was. The material is great (as usual for patagonia). I am sure it would be amazing for days on the boat, pool, really anything water related with the organic cotton terry but it is just soooo big and so much material. Maybe it is suppose to be a little on the larger side and cozy but I would never expect this large for a the size xs I ordered.
