bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not indestructible but still worth it Ok I love these pants. I'm "home" (as in, never home for long) chasing four kids around and these have become my go-to pants. Dressier than jeans and super comfy and practical. I can carry my wallet, cell phone and keys easily in these. The pockets are deep enough that I don't worry about stuff falling out (including my iPhone), and because the fabric is so stretchy it molds around things and it doesn't hurt when you squat down like with jeans. The fabric is stretchy but has a practical toughness to it, and the rise is perfect. After wearing a pair at least 3x/week for six months a couple seams started to go, one on the front pocket and one in the crotch. Nothing I couldn't fix, but I was bummed. But still, I'm planning on buying another pair in a different color. I'd rather have a couple pairs of these than a drawer full of cheaper, less comfortable pants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome but not too durable I bought three of these pants for a round the world trip and loved them at first, they are flexible and extremely comfortable. I decided to wear them ever day for six months before my trip to make sure they were durable enough. After two months of constant wear (for everyday activities, nothing outdoorsy) they started to fall apart. The back pockets were the first to go, then the fabric itself started to rip around my knees. I love these pants but they were not built for a round the world backpacking camping trip and I am very glad I decided to test them out before embarking on my adventure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile and comfortable for travel or outdoors. I like having hiking/travel/athletic/performance pants like these for travelling because they're light weight, wear well, and suit a range of uses so I don't need so many clothes. I get frustrated though because many of these types of pants take away a lot of the functionality (decent pockets) in exchange for better looks so the pants aren't that great for hiking. I'm 5'3" and 115lbs, normally wear 0 or 2 and these fit in a size 2 with a little room for eating too much on vacation. The fabric is stretchy so they're really comfortable for hiking, etc. I like the side pockets with zips and the side slash pockts are deep enough to keep things from falling out. Fabric does repel water splashes and they dry quickly. One thing I don't like is that the back pockets are just plain patch pockets with no closere so they can get debris (dirt, rocks, leaves, etc.) inside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit and look I love these pants. This is my second pair in a different color. They are great in the hot weather, breath well and keep the sweat down. I use they for working on our farm and walking, even going to meetings. I like the fit. It is stylish without being too tight. This is my go-to summer pant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional and flattering!! I absolutely love these pants. I own two pairs of them. I had struggled to find a pair of backpacking/hiking/rock climbing pants for a long time that were both flattering and functional. I'm 5'7'' 125 lbs and most hiking pants are baggy and balloony on me. I couldn't believe it when I found these--cute hiking pants?! They're flattering and fitted and don't stretch out too much even after multiple days of use. They're lightweight, super breathable, stretchy and durable enough even to use rock climbing. I've worn them on dozens of rock climbing trips and they've been perfect. They're great for super hot weather and when it's cold I wear a base layer underneath. Particularly love the green color!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best! I now own two pair of these pants and I love them. The fabric and construction are great! I would highly recommend these to my friends. They are an all around pant for sure. I wear these pants for yoga and casual activities. Great purchase and prompt customer service!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Runs small Patagonia's size information states, "Measurements refer to body size, not garment dimensions, and are in inches". The measurements for size 4 are waist-27.5", hips-36.5" I'm 5'8" and today my measurements are: waist-27.5", hips-36.75", so I ordered these pants in size 4, 34" inseam. I was able to put them on and they were long enough. But the pants were skin-tight and the low waistband gave me a muffin top. Unfortunately, I must return these. The fabric is very stretchy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Miraculous pants... I don't know what it is about this material, but it is incredibly flattering. I was trying to locate a different pair of Patagonia pants I purchased some years back, and happened upon these (could not locate the others). These are not exactly what I wanted, the cargo style makes them a bit less versatile (much more casual look), but they are amazingly comfortable and flattering. I would love to see a similar pair without the cargo pockets and simple 'hidden' zipper pockets at the rear (as my previous pants have). Still, very comfy and I am certain I will get a lot of wear from them. They can be worn at work (casually), walking, even running or to the gym (as re the material), not necessarily very stylistic if at the gym or running, if you care about such things (I don't). The other pair that I have, without the cargo pockets. easily pass for work pants that can be worn with a nice blouse, that is what I am truly hoping to see come back... That said, don't hesitate to purchase these, great pants!
