bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Woman's Tribune Shorts I have these in black and khaki and love them. Great fit and comfort for hiking, walking, I even used the black pair to golf in! The side zip pocket fits my cell phone perfectly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these shorts! I bought the shorts in August and basically wear them everyday. They are very comfortable and I love the pockets. I can easily fit my iPhone 7+ in the hip and back pockets. The stretch of the fabric is just right and I never have any binding. The only problem has been the stitching coming out of the flat felt seam at the crotch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BUY ME! This is one of the best products I have ever purchased from Patagonia! These are perfect for my 10-hour regatta work days. They get wet, they dry. They get dirty, you can't see it. I'm able to move around, lift boxes, grunge-work you wouldn't believe - and then spend the afternoon shaking hands with VIPs, looking professional. I bought four pairs, hopefully there are some left for you!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good all-around short 5'4" 125 lbs, athletic middle-aged build. I can't tell if I changed or if Patagonia changed -- but the 6 I usually wear didn't fit. Too tight in the upper thigh, where the hips bend. So I bought these in an 8, figuring the drawstring would take care of the too-big waist -- and, let me say, all hail drawstrings. Nice addition, Patagonia. Also they're longer than most shorts, which was a plus for me. Wore these on a hike which was hot, then it hailed, then it poured, and these shorts held up well: even though I bought them in black they didn't heat up too much, and then the rain beaded up and rolled off, so I didn't get soaked through.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from slim fit I am new to patagonia pants and did not know what to expect. Now I know not to order slim fit! I would recommend them to a skinny friend, but not for me. Skin tight with a large waist. Very stretchy and lightweight, though.
