Read More Close
Looking down the stormy fall line of a rock-studded Kootenay rib, you need your focus to remain on making each turn—not on the performance of your outerwear. Unwavering in the face of harsh conditions, the Untracked Pants have a refined fit and a supple feel to move with you without bunching or slowing you down. The premium fabric package combines a supple yet resilient 3-layer nylon GORE-TEX® fabric for waterproof/breathable and windproof protection with a soft, brushed interior to increase warmth and manage moisture while minimizing bulk. A DWR (durable water repellent) finish prevents saturation. The highly articulated fit and flexed pattern at the knees allow exceptional mobility for both hiking and aggressive charging. Mesh-lined thigh vents with Vislon® zippers circulate air to reduce heat buildup; gaiters with gripper elastic, a snow-shedding nylon liner between the gaiter and interior cuff, and a DWR finish create a tenacious seal for serious postholing. Other features include watertight, coated slim zips to reduce bulk and weight; burly scuff guards; slick taffeta at the waist; adjustable tabs to fine-tune the fit; an embedded RECCO® avalanche rescue reflector; and five zippered pockets—two handwarmers, two thigh pockets and one rear pocket. With an articulated, feminine silhouette.
  • Durable yet supple 3-layer nylon waterproof/breathable GORE-TEX® fabric with a brushed tricot backer for extra warmth
  • Waist details: soft self-fabric lining repels moisture; adjustable elastic tabs customize fit; grown-on belt loops; two-snap closure and zip fly; webbing loop on rear yoke attaches pants to the powder skirt on any Patagonia® Snow jacket
  • Watertight, coated zippers with slim zip installation reduce bulk and weight; watertight Vislon® zippered side vents are durable and easy to use
  • Articulated patterning for mobility; mesh-lined thigh vents quickly release heat and keep out snow
  • Gaiters seal out snow; tough scuff guards protect inside of leg and bottom hem. The lining between the gaiter and hem helps repel snow
  • Zippered pockets: two handwarmers, two thigh cargo, one back pocket
  • Concealed RECCO® reflector

The construction of 3-Layer GORE-TEX® Products is unique. A 3-layer GORE-TEX® membrane is sandwiched between a soft outer material and a knit polyester backing material that increases durability. These garments keep you comfortable and protected from the elements without adding extra bulk or weight.

The GORE-TEX® membrane has 9 billion pores per square inch, with each pore 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet. These tiny holes are too small for water and wind to pass through from the outside. But these same pores are large enough for moisture vapor to pass through, so your body's perspiration is able to escape and you won’t feel clammy or uncomfortable inside your jacket.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps you dry My biggest hope was that these would keep me both warm and dry; they do both. Plus lots of cool pockets. Happy with them

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Baggy I love Patagonia and what this company stands for & practices. I want to like these pants but they are so big i can't work in them. I am 5'6 120 so I ordered a small. The length is good but the overall fit is huge. The material feels good & I was stoked on the gore-tex. I dont like the white zippers that stand out- i'm simply looking for a black ski pant to work in. These will be mailed back sadly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good fit. I have been ski guiding in these pants for a few weeks now. I really like the fit. They are more durable and waterproof than other snowpants I have. I cut the mesh out of the side vents, and now they are perfect! A great winter ski pant. I like the pockets too...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and waterproof They are warm enough for on mountain lift service on a bitter cold (-1 Fahrenheit) day. I have also used them to cross country ski and hike in the backcountry and they move and breathe just fine. Light weight and rugged they are a good all around choice for any outside winter activity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fitting pants, but size down for small I just got these so I haven't tested them in the snow, but I have worn them around the house to get a feel for fit. They are a little long for me, (XS, 5'3", 125lbs, athletic, long torso and short legs), but they fit great otherwise. I still have plenty of room to move with the thermal weight bottoms underneath (so room for a couple of layers) and with ski boots on I think the length will be fine. The fabric feels quite soft and the pants are lightweight for the protection they will provide. I love that there are so many pockets because that way you can stow several items without having too much bulk in any one pocket, although these details make the pants a little bit more expensive. The pocket zips are all low profile, but the venting zips are white and black (on the black pants) and a little bulky. You can't see that they are white and black on the webpage, and I'm not sure yet if I like this detail, but I like the pants so much that I can live with it. The main issue I had in ordering these pants was the sizing. I am a typical small in patagonia, so that is what I ordered, but I was swimming in the small. At the same time I ordered the thermal weight bottoms and velocity running tights - both in small and they fit perfectly. So, if you are normally a small, then definitely size down to an xsmall in the untracked pants. I believe the small would fit a medium-sized woman well (given how they fit me).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile, confident and looks as good as it feels I absolutely love this ski pant... best I've ever skied! The pant is incredibly lightweight and supple for true Gore Tex. I also like that there is a soft tricot kind of lining on the back of the fabric. This material keeps the fabric warmer to the touch when wet on the outside and also moves cleanly over baselayers. This is lightest and coolest Gore Tex pant that I have ever warn. Winter or Spring skiing, it doesn't matter... perfect for all conditions! I liked the fit of these pants too. High enough at the waist to keep snow out and roomy enough in the legs for highly active skiing. The waist tabs enable you to get your perfect fit. I skied the pant in August in a variety of conditions while in South America. I was very satisfied with the comfort, performance, durability. A true Patagonia product for sure but with some style too:)
