bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Recycled Nylon

Although we’ve been using recycled polyester in our garments for 20 years, for some reason locked deep in polymer chemistry, nylon is more difficult to recycle than polyester. After years of research, development, and testing, we’re finally finding some recycled nylon fibers that are suitable for apparel.

Some of the recycled nylon we use comes from post-industrial waste fiber, yarn collected from a spinning factory, and waste from the weaving mills that can be processed into reusable nylon fiber.

We’re diligently searching for a success story with recycled nylon. The challenge lies ahead of us, and we’re committed to discovering the best methods to recycle nylon fiber, but it appears this evolution will take many years.

Women's Vosque 3-In-1 Parka is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Coat, but.. I love the look and feel of this coat. It is fitted through the body - I love a coat that still lets your waist be visible! I am a bit disappointed in the warmth of the coat though. We've had a fairly mild winter in the Northeast, but I still find myself wanting to add a layer under this coat to stay warm. Even with the fitted style, I am still able to layer a fleece underneath. I expected a little more insulation in the coat, but all-in-all I am happy with my purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Get the better jacket. This jacket might be nice....but the fit was off and the quality does not compare to the next expensive similar jacket. I liked the colors...but it was uncomfortable. Choose wisely with the sizing. I had to send it back....and Patagonia was great about the return.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super set of jackets. This is a great all purpose layering coat. The sleeves are quite long- I have long arms and they are long on me. It would cost too much to get them shortened so have to roll them up once. The jacket itself runs a little small I think but the sleeves are long.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Patagonia Women's Vosque 3-in-1 Parka I bought this recently after my favorite coat of all time fell apart after I washed it. Clearly, this is a hard act to follow. I looked at lots of coats and settled on the Patagonia. I need a multi-function coat for overseas travel, a coat that I can layer to protect in rain, cold, wind, and unlayer as needed. This coat does that for sure. It's a bit snug (and I'm NOT overweight, i.e., 5'7", 140#), and the front panel that holds the snap bases and covers the zipper, is too wide. Were it a bit narrower, it would fall into place on its own. As it is, I have to run my hand down it to nudge it into place so it doesn't stick out when I don't want to secure the snaps. Otherwise, the parka is working well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light yet warm I have worn all three options and it's great. Protects protects from the wind and kept warm during the colder days. Love the fabric as it's easy to clean if any dirt got onto it. Very versatile. I have worn it to work, including biking to work and also hiking.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Inconsistent sizing First of all, I love the way this jacket looks on, it is very flattering and not bulky, the cut is great and I love the longer length of it, it can go from casual to not so casual easily. However, the inside layer is way too small and is tight on my back and shoulders. I am 5-6, 135 pounds and do yoga and swim, but I don't think I have an abnormally large back or shoulders. I took the layers apart and tried on the inside layer alone. It is way too small and I just had a thin T shirt on underneath. I was very sad because this jacket is very flattering and I felt warm and comfortable temperature wise when I went outside in 30 degree weather. Patagonia, please can you fix this? Its really a very nice looking jacket and functional. I feel like the large would be too big.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprising climate control I bought this jacket for the above freezing temperatures. I was concerned when it arrived the lining appeared thin and it was slim in the torso. I bought a M . I'm 5'4" and 130lbs. After 3 weeks I've retired 2 other coats. The coat is somehow able to keep my temperature just right in temperatures 45-25 F. The waterproofing is amazing. Beads right up and you never get that damp feeling even after being in the rain for an hour+. The slimness helps to keep the temperature regulated and I have learned I don't need to wear a polar fleece under the coat. There is an inside pocket in the lining but it could use a pocket along the zipper in the outer coat.
