For trail running and other high-aerobic activities in cold weather, the Wind Shield Jacket provides lightweight soft-shell protection from the elements while still allowing excess heat and moisture to escape through strategically placed breathable panels.

Leaves turn, temps fall, winds rise. On crisp autumn trails, our Wind Shield Hybrid Soft Shell Jacket lets the gusts stoke your fire. Its wind-blocking barrier does the heavy lifting, while unlaminated Capilene® Thermal Weight panels on the back and sides provide outlets for excess heat and moisture. Thumb holes and fold-over mitts keep wrists and fingers agile in 30-something temperatures as the stretchy soft-shell fabric resists moisture with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. Reflective logos on the left chest and center back get you noticed; Polygiene® permanent odor control means you can wash it less and not be noticed. A zippered chest pocket carries nutrition or ID.

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Women's Wind Shield Jacket is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft and windproof I'm wearing this jacket right now. I use it as a mid layer for biking and walking. And I'll be using it for winter workouts because it has wonderful stretch. It does not ride up on me but then I'm short and a little round. The chest pocket is really only good for a single key, so your stuff has to go elsewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great running jacket A Patagonia customer service member recommended product to me. I was looking for a coat to wear for max 40 degree weather as I run through the fall and winter in Wisconsin. So far it has been great! I wore it for my half marathon earlier today and it kept me nice and warm. I took it off and tied it around my waist once I was feeling good, and it felt very light - I barely noticed it. The breathable panels are really good at making sure you don't overheat. Highly recommend. I am 120 lb, 5'9", and I thought it was a nice fit that hit my waist/hips at a good point. I did not have issues with the jacket riding up like another reviewer did. Sleeves were long enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Cool Days I bought this for hiking and bike riding on cool, breezy days. It's extremely lightweight but has enough substance to it to keep me warm, while at the same time the ventilation on the sides and back prevents overheating. It's fitted but not tight, and doesn't ride up or catch the wind when I'm biking. I like it so much that I end up wearing it all the time, just as a general purpose jacket.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Strange cut I bought this with the intention of using it for trail running. However I wore it around the house and just walking it was riding up on me and bulging out in strange areas. The fabric is quite thin---thinner than I expected. It's more like a shirt. It does seem like it would block the wind though even with how thin it is. The fabric is nice and stretchy which is important for aerobic activities. Not thrilled with the fact it doesn't have hand pockets. The whole jacket just seemed to run big. I typically wear an xs which is what I got, but it was definitely a strange fit for me. I had to send it back.
