After early morning rains, the clouds miraculously parted for the 18th Annual Salmon Run. This year's race was race #4 of 5 of the inaugural SOAR Trail Series. The beneficiary of this year's run was Los Padres ForestWatch, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting SOAR. We are still crunching numbers but it looks like we were able to raise over 14K; another milestone! This year we attempted to educate runners about the deleterious effects of the homeless on the river environment and to offer some solutions by putting signage along the course and prompting runners to visit Santa Barbara Channelkeeper's booth at the event.

The race sold out at 400 runners several days prior to the event, which was unprecedented. We also had approximately 25 environmental groups tabling at the event along with related businesses AND a yummy array of pastries, bagels and oranges.
