Twenty One Years in the Making:
Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Patagonia, Ventura, California
We’re very excited to announce that registration is now open for the 21st annual 5K race, to be held November 9, 2014.
For over twenty years, the Ventura community has embraced and supported the Salmon Run, enabling us to directly benefit non-profit organizations focused on addressing environmental concerns right in our own backyard. We hope you can join this year’s race and be part of extending the Salmon Run’s mission for many more decades to come.
This year's race beneficiary will be Los Padres Forest Watch. Los Padres ForestWatch is the only nonprofit organization working to protect wilderness landscapes, wildlife, free-flowing rivers, and the great outdoors throughout the Los Padres National Forest. Celebrating its 10th year, ForestWatch has safeguarded more than 100,000 acres of these public lands along California’s Central Coast using scientific collaboration, legal advocacy, field work, education, and volunteer stewardship. We’ve organized more than three dozen habitat restoration projects to improve the health of our region’s largest open spaces and the communities that depend on them. These lands form the headwaters of our local streams and waterways, serving as a source of clean water for our farms and offering some of the best habitat for steelhead and other fish in our region – we work to protect them for the benefit and enjoyment of current and future generations.
The Salmon Run is the second race in the SOAR Trail Run Series. Participation in all four races will earn runners a unique gift from SOAR sponsors.
Registration for the Salmon Run and other SOAR races is presently offered online at Race360.com. Please be aware that last year’s race SOLD OUT. Register early online to guarantee a spot in this year’s run.
Hope to see you at the race!
