American Alpine Institute
Started in 1975, the American Alpine Institute's mission has been to help climbers achieve their personal goals, gain skills and competence on technical terrain in the mountains, and to foster a care for and awareness of the environments in which they travel. Called "the best all around climbing school and guide service in North America" (Jon Krakauer), AAI operates in 6 states and 16 countries. AAI has programs for all interest and ability levels, from instruction and ascent to expeditions to the 7 Summits.
Mountain Trip was established in the mountains of Alaska in 1973, and we have been guiding climbers on Denali since 1976. We are committed to providing the highest level of service, quality, and professionalism on every expedition. We are climbers guiding climbers, instilling our enthusiasm and respect for wild places in everyone with whom we tie onto a rope. While still specializing in guiding in Alaska including Denali, Mt Foraker, Mt Hunter, Mt Huntington, and other technical climbs, we also lead expeditions to big mountains around the world including the Himalaya, South America, Antarctica, and Indonesia. Mountain Trip is a small, custom and innovative guide service with some of the best professional guides in the business. We offset the carbon emissions of our world travel through TerraPass and are working towards making our office at 9,800 feet in Ophir, Colorado completely solar powered. We wear Patagonia products because they are the best, and we share their commitment to being a positive social and environmental force.
