General Summary:
The Senior Software Developer is a skilled and experienced software developer responsible for the Application Lifecycle Management including requirements gathering, detailed design, testing and implementation of enhancements and bug fixes to support the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP business system. This will include complex system integration as well as legacy systems using various software programming tools and languages. The Senior Software Developer will participate in daily SCRUM meetings along with the team lead, other developers and product owners to discuss the status of backlog items. Development tasks will range from small tasks to large scale projects that can span many months. The Senior Software Developer will take pride in delivering solutions using best practices that are sustainable and reliable. Team work is a core value and mentoring and leading discussions are expected as part of the role. Time management and prioritizing skills should be honed and able to stay focused on development tasks when conflicts or distractions exist.

Essential Job Functions:
o In conjunction with the ERP Operations Manager, ERP Business Analysts and the Development Manager develop technical specifications, as appropriate, to satisfy software enhancements.
o Author technical design documentation that fully defines all application code and the underlying methodology for the design decisions made.
o Mentor mid-level developers and reviewing code as necessary.
o Review, to the extent possible, changes in code and the environment that will affect system performance.
o Write and conduct unit tests to verify the functionality, accuracy, and efficiency of developed or enhanced software code. Develop and initiate design changes or enhancements as necessary.
o Coordinate and implement AX release and build schedules with the Development Manager and ERP Technical Manager.
o Estimate required time and resources to complete assigned projects or tasks and plan accordingly so that projects are completed in an accurate and timely fashion.
o Perform technical work requiring experience in the application of standard techniques and procedures in carrying out tasks (i.e. the SDLC programming methodology).

Other Job Functions:
o Use SQL for adhoc database programming fixes/modifications as dictated by enhancement/modification objectives.
o Work with the ERP Technical Team to coordinate the implementation of software patches and/or new application releases.
o Keep technical knowledge and competency up to date and current with Microsoft AX best practice guidelines for AX.
o Collaborate and share knowledge with development team on bug fixes/enhancement methodology and approach.

Physical Requirements:
o Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
o Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time.
o Ability to maintain a composed and professional demeanor within a flexible and (at times noisy) work environment.
o Must be able to travel domestically and internationally utilizing various transportation methods.
o Able to support the ERP system 24/7 and on call as needed.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
o Four (4) year college degree in Computer Science, related fields and/or equivalent experience.
o Minimum four (4) years programming experience in X++, Java, C/C++, C# (C-Sharp) or VB.NET or related object oriented programming language in a Windows environment.
o Comfortable working with the Windows API’s.
o Strong technical background in architecting and implementing solutions written in X++ or related object oriented programming language and ability to work and collaborate in a team environment.
o Advanced knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL).
o Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and Project.
o Strong verbal and written communication skills, team player with a commitment to success.
o Able to work well under pressure and with multiple project deadlines.
o Ability to work on long term projects and day-to-day program maintenance responsibilities.
o Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment.
o Comfortable with team-based work structure; ability to remain flexible to change within the work environment and scope of responsibility.
o Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on areas of responsibility.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
o ERP System experience.
o Morphx development environment experience.
o Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2012 experience.
o Experience writing SSIS/SSRS packages/reports.
o Microsoft .Net platform experience.
o Apparel experience/knowledge.
o Ability to work in a multi platform, multi OS environment.
o Microsoft BizTalk integration experience.
