Our largest daypack features multiple compartments, plenty of pockets and a padded sleeve that holds most 17" laptops.

The Chacabuco carries a full quiver of gear when you’re traversing a pulsing city or crossing a wind-scoured mountain pass. It houses everything in two main compartments and has an exterior shock cord for additional carrying capacity. The generous main compartment carries the majority of your gear and comes with a raised, padded sleeve sized to hold most 17" laptops. Equipped with a tube port, the sleeve also accepts a hydration reservoir when you leave your laptop at home. A secondary compartment stores everyday necessities like keys, pens and a phone. A zippered outside pocket holds energy bars or small essentials, and a brushed tricot-lined top pocket protects sunglasses or an audio device. Two stretch pockets keep water bottles within reach. The Chacabuco's suspension system uses heat-venting Air Flow mesh on the back panel and shoulder straps. With a webbing waistbelt, sternum strap and compression straps to stabilize the load. The body is made from 450-denier 100% recycled polyester and lined with 200-denier 100% polyester. The base is 450-denier 100% recycled polyester, and all fabrics have a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

Recycled Polyester

Regulator

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.
