A hybrid soft-shell jacket that combines Polartec® Power Shield® stretch-woven fabric in the body with H2No® Performance Standard panels in key high-exposure areas for waterproof/breathable storm protection on wet ice climbs or backcountry ski tours.

Waves of spindrift and melting ice splatter your shoulders and chest while you cruise through endless stretches of simulclimbing. The Mixed Guide complements the stop-and-go cycles of ice and alpine climbing, with hard-shell weather protection where you need it and soft-shell breathability everywhere else. The upper torso hard shell (shoulders, chest, upper arms and hood) utilizes our H2No® Performance Standard 3-layer 100% nylon ripstop fabric with a waterproof/breathable barrier. The remaining soft-shell areas are made of heavy-duty but highly breathable Polartec® Power Shield® fabric. This durable stretch-woven blend (57% polyester/36% nylon/7% spandex) uses Hardface® Technology that dramatically enhances the DWR (durable water repellent) finish’s resistance to wind, water, snow and abrasion. The jacket’s brushed interior gives next-to-skin comfort; the helmet-compatible, 2-way-adjustable hood with laminated visor allows optimal visibility in bad conditions; and gusseted panels let you reach high without raising the body of the jacket. Other detailing: two zippered chest and two zippered hand pockets that sit above harness line, a microfleece lining on the neck and chin and a drawcord hem.

Weatherproof

3-layer H2No® Performance Standard fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof and breathable by virtue of an advanced combination of elements: a water-repellent shell fabric and a waterproof/breathable membrane bonded with an ultralight knit backer. The entire fabric package is highly packable and designed for prolonged use in extreme weather.

3-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are coated with DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish that repels light rain and snow. In conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

All products bearing the H2No mark have been vigorously tested for durability in our 24 Killer Wash.

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.
