A quick-drying, lightweight nylon brimmed hat with 360-degree protection.

Long days on the water mean sun from every angle, but with the Sun Booney’s 360-degree semi-rigid brim, you’re always in the shade. This cool, lightweight hat packs easily, snaps back into shape quickly and provides comfort in tough conditions with a moisture-wicking COOLMAX® headband. The new ultralight 100% Supplex® nylon with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish sheds moisture, dries fast and breathes easily. And should you forget to cinch the soft, adjustable chin strap when you get up on the plane, fear not: The Sun Booney floats for easy retrieval.
  • Tough, easy-care brim provides 360-degree sun protection and encases a durable, semi-rigid foam that floats

  • Soft chin strap and adjustable rear buckle for a snug fit
  • 4.2-oz 100% Supplex® nylon, with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish and 50+ UPF sun protection. Headband: COOLMAX® fabric

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Sun Protection

Lacking fur, feathers or scales, we humans have to think up clever ways to protect ourselves from the sun. Products with the UPF designation provide built-in sun protection that won’t wear off.

UPF stands for “Ultraviolet Protection Factor.” This value represents the fractional amount of the sun’s harmful UV rays that pass through a fabric. A rating of “25” indicates that only 1/25th , or 4% of the UV rays pass through the garment.

Patagonia products with rated UPF protection are tested independently to meet Australia/New Zealand or AATCC protocols. A rating of 15-24 earns a product a rating of “good”; a rating of 25-39 is "very good"; and a rating of 40-50+ is “excellent.” *

* When tested in accordance with Australian/New Zealand test methods AS/NZS 4399 or USA test methods AATCC 183/ASTM D6603/ASTM D6544.
