For long hauls on the hottest days, the Women's Long-Sleeved Draft Shirt combines lightweight Capilene® 1 fabric in the body, with breathable Air Flow mesh panels for the ultimate in moisture management and fast dry times.

It's hot, Africa hot. Sunbathing lizards skitter for shelter, leaving you and the Women's Long-Sleeved Draft Shirt to take on the day. Made for braving long runs in high temperatures, our airiest, most breathable long-sleeved running shirt pairs light, moisture-wicking Capilene® 1 recycled polyester with ultralight, quick-drying Air Flow mesh (side and underarm) panels to keep you cool. Soft, scalloped binding at the neck and hem provide next-to-skin comfort, and colored reflective logos on left hem and center back keep you visible on dusty roads. A small pocket holds essentials. With 15-UPF sun protection and Gladiodor® odor control for the garment.

Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Sun Protection

Lacking fur, feathers or scales, we humans have to think up clever ways to protect ourselves from the sun. Products with the UPF designation provide built-in sun protection that won’t wear off.

UPF stands for “Ultraviolet Protection Factor.” This value represents the fractional amount of the sun’s harmful UV rays that pass through a fabric. A rating of “25” indicates that only 1/25th , or 4% of the UV rays pass through the garment.

Patagonia products with rated UPF protection are tested independently to meet Australia/New Zealand or AATCC protocols. A rating of 15-24 earns a product a rating of “good”; a rating of 25-39 is ""very good""; and a rating of 40-50+ is “excellent.” *

* When tested in accordance with Australian/New Zealand test methods AS/NZS 4399 or AATCC 183/AS
