Everybody loves Margot: our easy-care, stretchy organic cotton dress with a flattering V-front detail and an above-the-knee length.

In one beautiful move, the Margot Dress crosses the line between work and play. It’s made soft organic cotton with just enough spandex to assist in the transition, plus it's a Fair Trade Certified™ sewing style. The back is raised this season for full coverage, and darts give a more flattering fit to the bust and shoulders. The crossover V-front merges with a flattering Empire waistband that’s pleated for comfort. A-line hem drapes to just above the knee.

Beginning with our Spring 2015 styles, we've improved our women’s fit: There’s a slight increase at the waist for shaping and to ensure the fit is truer to size. All other measurements, such as chest and hip, remain the same. Please refer to our new, updated Women's Size Chart and Fit Descriptions for details. Note: this change applies to full-price Spring 2015 styles, not to past-season or on-sale items.
  • Fair Trade Certified organic cotton with a hint of spandex
  • Crossover V-neck with darts at bust and shoulder
  • Flattering empire waistband detail
  • A-line dress; above-the-knee length
  • 5.9-oz 96% organic cotton/4% spandex. Fair Trade Certified™ sewing
  • 249 g (8.8 oz)
  • Made in Sri Lanka.

Organic Cotton

Organic Cotton

In 1996, with an increased awareness of the dangers of pesticide use and synthetic fertilizers in growing conventional cotton, we began the exclusive use of organically grown cotton in all of our cotton products.

The quality of organic cotton is equal to or better than conventionally grown cotton, yet organically grown methods support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, improve the quality of soil and often use less water. Growing organically takes more time, requires more knowledge and skill, and, for now, costs more. But it’s worth it.

To ensure we are buying cotton that is organic as defined by the USDA’s National Organic Program, we require numerous certificates issued by an accredited third-party certification body for every step of the supply chain, from farm to factories.

Fair Trade Certified™

For every Fair Trade Certified item we buy, we pay a premium. The money goes into an account that is controlled by the workers and is specifically designated for social, economic and environmental development projects. Workers may choose to use the money to help build a school or a health clinic, create a scholarship or invest in some other aspect of their other community.
