Lighter, warmer, softer, and with a new articulated fit, the Primo Down Jacket features 2-layer GORE-TEX® fabric and 800-fill-power down insulation to keep you warm in the harshest elements, from first chair to stormy laps in the trees.

When an arctic front hits the night before the bird spins or a chilly dawn patrol up Jackson's Glory Bowl, the Primo Down keeps you stoked with all-day warmth and unbeatable weather protection. Our warmest and most protective insulated hard-shell jacket, the Primo Down combines durably waterproof/breathable and windproof 2-layer 100% nylon GORE-TEX® fabric with an insulating layer of 800-fill premium European goose down. A DWR (durable water repellent) finish repels wet snow, and an internal polyester lining manages moisture. The 2-way-adjustable, helmet-compatible hood has a laminated visor; our Touch Point System™ allows for easy adjustability. Slim Zip installation with watertight coated zippers on the pockets and pit zips reduce weight and bulk; Vislon zipper on the center-front is burly and easy to use. Other features include a removable, sleek, low-profile powder skirt with loop that attaches to any Patagonia® snow pants, and an embedded RECCO® avalanche rescue reflector. Zippered pockets: two chest, one includes secure media pocket with cable routing; two handwarmers; one forearm pass pocket; one internal drop-in for goggles or gloves; one internal stash.

100% Traceable Down Insulation

Patagonia 100% Traceable Down provides the highest assurance of animal welfare in the apparel industry. Every down cluster, in every one of our down products, comes exclusively from birds that were never force-fed and never live-plucked. How do we know? We hired an independent third-party expert to trace and verify our down supply chain from farm to jacket–and every step in between. Learn more

Weatherproof

GORE-TEX

The construction of 2-Layer GORE-TEX® Products is unique. A GORE-TEX® membrane is bonded to an outer material, then combined with a free-flowing lining. The benefit: a soft, lightweight garment that keeps you dry and lets you move freely.

The GORE-TEX® membrane has 9 billion pores per square inch, with each pore 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet. These tiny holes are too small for water and wind to pass through from the outside. But these same pores are large enough for moisture vapor to pass through, so your body's perspiration is able to escape and you won’t feel clammy or uncomfortable inside your jacket.
