私たちの環境を守るための戦いは、一般市民が情報を得ることで力づき、持続可能で公正な社会を求めて立ち上がらない限り、決して勝利を得ることはできません。これが起こらない限り、ワイズユース（賢明な利用）グループは彼らの虚報キャンペーンを続行し、環境に関する法律は近視眼的な政治家からその存続を脅かされ、政府機関は相変わらず私たちの森林や河川の破壊を許し続けます。そのため、パタゴニアはここで助成先になっている広範囲にわたるグループを支援し、地域社会の市民と環境キャンペーンを結びつけることで、長期的かつ環境的視点に立った、社会的／政治的な変化をもたらすことに努力を注いでいます。
