現代の化学薬品に依存した農業を起因とする環境コストは、すでに受け入れがたい水準にあります。過剰な農薬使用、土壌流出、遺伝子組み換え技術による均質化、あるいは穀物の改良は、私たちが呼吸する大気や飲み水、人間そして人間以外の生物も食べ物を得て、生息する場所として依存している土壌に脅威を与えています。オーガニックによる持続可能な農業は、こうした慣行農法に対する現実的かつ必要な代替策と言えます。この分野で助成しているグループは、自滅的な破壊的農業の循環から自然で育成的な持続可能な農業への変換を実現するため自ら模範を示し、啓蒙活動を通じて戦いを先導している人々です。
