Windproof and water-resistant, the Nano Puff® Pullover is warm, incredibly lightweight, highly compressible and can be worn as insulation or outerwear in cold climates.
Built as a minimalist prototype for our weight-and-performance-obsessed alpinists, the original Nano grew into a cult classic and spawned offspring. This pullover remains sleek and pared down, using the best available synthetic insulation and designed with a deep-venting half-zip to avoid harness-line bulk and minimize weight, while maximizing trapped heat. It's weather-resistant enough to wear as an insulated shell in a wet snowstorm, trim enough to pull on for chilly rock pitches (and still see your footholds), and warm enough for light belay parka duty on quick alpine dashes. The wind-blocking, moisture-shedding 100% recycled polyester shell also glides effortlessly, whether worn as a mid-or-outer-layer. Low-bulk, hydrophobic, highly compressible PrimaLoft® One (60-g) traps heat with remarkable efficiency, even when wet. It packs down to practically nothing and stuffs into a single chest pocket that has a carabiner clip-in loop. Elasticized cuffs and hem seal out wind and trap warmth. Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

Technology
At Patagonia we seek to build the best product and cause no unnecessary harm. That's our mission statement, and it takes many forms. As it applies to making products, we work hard to source materials and use processes that are less harmful to the Earth without compromising quality. Because to us, quality is not only how well a product performs and holds up, but also how it's made.

The Good:
The Nano Puff Pullover pairs a newly developed, superlight shell fabric with PrimaLoft® One, the lightest, warmest and most compressible synthetic insulation available. The Nano Puff is fully recyclable and made in a factory that meets our four-fold criteria for product manufacturing: quality craftsmanship, competitive pricing, strong environmental standards and fair labor practices.
The Bad:
While the shell fabric has recycled content, PrimaLoft® One does not. We use this insulation for its high warmth-to-weight ratio, which affords performance superior to that of PrimaLoft® Eco (made with 50% recycled polyester). The shell and zipper are treated with a durable water-repellent (DWR) finish that contains perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), a synthetic chemical that is now persistent in the environment.
What We Think:
We’re investigating alternatives to the use of PFOA in water repellents and working with Albany International, the company that makes PrimaLoft® products, to develop a synthetic insulation with recycled content that offers the outstanding performance attributes of PrimaLoft® One.
