Designed for wet-then-chill pursuits like backcountry skiing, alpine climbing and mountain trekking, our fastest-drying performance baselayer will keep you cool during endurance activities in warmer temperatures, but also insulates when skies turn dark. Its open knit invites airflow and provides excellent wicking and exceptional breathability. A draft flap backs the zipper, and raglan sleeves eliminate chafe under pack straps. Flat-rib side panels merge with flat, offset seams for chafe-free comfort. Made from 4-oz 100% polyester (54% recycled) with Gladiodor® natural odor control for the garment. Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

Material

Capilene baselayers feature a moisture-wicking polyester fabric that dries quickly. Capilene polyester is also recycled, recyclable and features Gladiodor® natural odor control.

Technology

Gladiodor natural odor control is a safe, durable, nonpolluting and effective alternative to heavy metal ions. It comprises naturally derived amino acid chains that kill odor-causing bacteria on the product. Say good-bye to the funk factor!

    Capilene® 2 polyester employs 54% recycled content without sacrificing performance or comfort – and it's 100% recyclable. We've also found a natural way to control odor without reliance on metals or antimicrobials (to which bacteria develop resistance).

  • The Bad:

    To achieve the performance we need –and durability, an important attribute for low environmental impact – we still use 46% virgin polyester.

  • What We Think:

    We're happy to make an important product with 54% recycled content – and 100% recyclable as well. Next step: 100% recycled content, without loss of durability.
