Hanford Challenge’s Nuclear Waste Scholar Series presents filmmaker Irene Lusztig. Irene will share materials from her latest documentary film, RICHLAND, which offers a portrait of a community staking its identity and future on its nuclear origin story. Richland was formed to house and service the influx of new employees working at the Hanford Site during WW II. The film moves between archival past and observational present—blooming into a meditation on home, safety, whiteness, land, and deep time.
