The National Park Service in Minneapolis has spent the last decade restoring native prairie and an oak savanna at Coldwater Spring, a sacred site to the Dakota and other Indigenous people. The land is home to wildlife, pollinators, and a freshwater spring that empties into the Mississippi River. The city’s beloved Minnehaha Off-leash Dog Park borders this sensitive ecosystem. Come learn where you and your pet can freely roam and where you need a leash to help protect habitat and wildlife!
