Inside Scottish Salmon Feedlots

Perthshire, Scotland

Inside Scottish Salmon Feedlots seeks to prevent the expansion of, and ultimately eradicate, open-cage salmon farming on the west coast of Scotland through community activism and campaigns.

ISSF was founded by Corin Smith.

I am a campaigning photographer and communicator concerned with the environmental impacts of open cage salmon farming in Scotland.

I run a small consultancy providing content and communications services.

In 2019 I’ve toured with Patagonia’s conservation film “Artifishal” around Europe, UK and Scotland, making the argument face to face for the need to end the impacts of open cage salmon farming.

More than 22 tonnes of formaldehyde, which causes cancer and is used as an embalming fluid, were poured into salmon farm cages in Loch Ness, Loch Lochy and seven other lochs over nine months in 2019.
