Balkan River Defence (BRD) is the river conservation movement under the NGO Leeway Collective, responsible for the annual river conservation tour Balkan Rivers Tour (BRT).

BRD’s Mission Statement:
DEFEND the remaining free flowing rivers of Europe.
EXPOSE hydropower as unsustainable energy.
SUPPORT local river activists.
PROVIDE alternative through science, education, creativity and adventure sports.
