Dominico Zapata

Dominico Zapata is a surfer and environmental activist from Mount Maunganui, New Zealand. After starting out with Greenpeace he then moved on to work with numerous other grassroots organizations including Board Riders Against Drilling (B-RAD) and Kiwi’s Against Seabed Mining (KASM). Last year he set the New Zealand stand-up paddle-board distance record in an attempt to highlight the need to protect lakes, rivers and oceans for future generations by paddling New Zealand’s longest navigable river. He currently resides in Raglan on New Zealand’s west coast and spends his time in the water surfing or taking photos and working as a chef in Solscape’s organic vegetarian cafe, The Concious Kitchen.
