Job Title: Retail Stockroom Associate
Reports to: Store Manager
This position is responsible for the processing of all store shipping and receiving functions. In addition to specific duties listed below, the Shipper/Receiver will perform the duties of a Sales Associate whenever needed (see job description below).
Essential Job Functions
o Timely and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing merchandise:
- Patagonia shipments
- Outside vendor shipments
- Mail Orders / Customer Returns
- Special Orders
o Assist in maintaining all processes and records involved in shipping/receiving for the store, PRS, Accounting, and the Service Center.
o Consistently maintain a clean, organized and efficient stockroom. Work with store management to determine most efficient stockroom layout. Clearly label all boxes, stock all items by size, and maintain stockroom efficiency.
o Communicate inventory concerns to management on a regular basis.
o Work with store management to train staff on shipping/receiving and stockroom procedures to provide adequate coverage for these responsibilities when needed.
o Be proactive in Loss Prevention by keeping the stockroom well organized and maintaining proper procedures.
Work with store management to address Loss Prevention concerns.
o Communicate and resolve shipping discrepancies with outside vendors, PRS, Accounting, and the Service Center.
o Provide suggestions for improvements on current stockroom systems and procedures to store management.
o Continually able to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
o Continually able to lift and move boxes and product within a restricted space.
o Continually able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel.
o Continually able to walk up and down staircase, carrying boxes, product, and other necessary store related items.
o Ability to regularly perform store maintenance items: sweep, vacuum, empty trash, clean.
o Ability to safely lift boxes up to 55 lbs.
o Comfortable climbing ladders.
o Store is open 7 days per week. Number of scheduled hours per week varies. Must be available to work minimum of one weekend day, one opening shift and one closing shift throughout the week.
