Windproof, water-resistant and warm, the Boys’ Nano Puff® Jacket is an every-season stalwart, performing yeoman service as an outer layer in cool weather and as an insulating midlayer when things get really cold. Its 20-denier polyester mini-ripstop fabric has a DWR (durable water repellent) finish to shed rain; lining is a polyester plain-weave. A carefully designed quilt pattern holds the lightweight and compressible 60-g PrimaLoft® Gold insulation in place for long-lasting wear. Zippered handwarmers (with reflective webbing pulls) and a tall collar provide additional protection. Other details include an internal wind flap behind the front zipper; spandex binding at the sleeve openings; adjustable drawcord hem; internal zippered chest pocket (that doubles as a stuffsack); and a hand-me-down ID label.

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

We use PrimaLoft® insulation inside insulated garments for its warmth, compressibility, and soft comfort. While the human body uses energy to stay warm, PrimaLoft insulation uses a patented microfiber structure to help the body retain warmth and conserve energy.

The proprietary ultra-fine fibers of PrimaLoft insulation form a tight collection of air pockets that trap heat from your body and keep the cold out, providing an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. When insulation gets wet, it loses these air pockets and consequently, its insulating properties. PrimaLoft ultra-fine fibers were developed to be water resistant so your insulation stays drier and maintains its insulating properties even when wet.

Boys' Nano Puff Jacket is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grreat KID garment! It's for my grandson, who is now getting into everything, thus the "ultimate" rating. He's four and I have one just like his that's been to Everest base camp, as an underlayment to a Patagonia down sweater. It's easy to manage, and if black, or dirt brown, will generally cover the things my grandson and I get into. Easy 'on' and 'off' its popular on the active trail, or at the demands of a 4 year old, or his (her) mom or dad. You can easily 'squish' it into any empty pocket or recover it in an instant. It's tough too! A gob of duct tape patches any ills. It's as good for a beginner an it is for an old pro!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great All Around Coat This is a year round staple for both my boys and their favorite coat. Good for layering under a raincoat as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for girls also My niece wanted a blue jacket for Hanukah. I was disappointed to see that the girls jackets are only in "feminine" colors, but then realized that there was a separate category for boys. She loves the color and the jacket, and the price is very reasonable. The photos make the boys jacket look more boxy, less fitted, but I have nothing to compare it to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket for boys or girls! We showed up in NYC without a warm enough coat and bought this. It stood up to 20 degree weather no problem!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dreary colors Usually I love patagonia colors -- fun, fresh, vibrant. If wanted black, royal blue, or blah gray, I could go to Target...I just can't bring myself to order nano puff jackets in these colors for my boys which is too bad, because I loooove me some nano cozy. I'm giving this a 3 stars because while I can't get on board with these kids colors, my women's nano jacket is instant warmth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My son's favorite jacket We do love this jacket, it's super comfortable and warm even though it's SOO light. I'd say the only reason not to give 5* is because the outside does fray and rip easily. Maybe eventually they'll have a bit tougher material.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great coat This is a go to in our house! It had survived all an 8 year old boy can throw at it and we have not had any issues. It travels to school, camping, skiing and soccer games and is one of the few items that our son actually never forgets to bring home again. He loves how light and soft it feels when he is wearing it. While it has stood up to the wear and tear it has been subjected to it also washes out well. Additionally, the arms are long enough that I am getting multiple years out of it as with all our other Patagonia kids gear. I will not hesitate to replace it when he grows out of it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I am a huge Patagonia fan. And I love the adult nano puff. And the baby nano puff. This one has a very difficult zipper which is diappointing to me and very frustrating to my 5-yr-old.
