You’ve sacrificed sleep, work and a relationship or two for cold, dry powder. You may sometimes feel a twinge of regret but you’ll rarely feel the cold in our Primo Down—the warmest and most protective insulated hard-shell jacket we make. It combines a durable, 2-layer waterproof/breathable and windproof GORE-TEX® fabric with an insulating layer of warm, 100% Traceable Down (800-fill-power goose down that can be traced back to birds that were never force-fed, never live-plucked) to keep your psych high as the temperature drops low. A DWR (durable water repellent) finish casts off water and saturated snow, and an internal nylon lining manages moisture and glides smoothly over underlayers. The 2-way-adjustable, helmet-compatible hood has a laminated visor for optimal visibility; our Touch Point System® embeds cord locks in the hood and hem for easy adjustability. Slim Zip installation with watertight, coated zippers on the pockets and pit zips reduce bulk and weight; Vislon® zippers on the center-front and chest pockets are burly tough and easy to use. Other features include ventilating pit zips; a removable, low-profile powder skirt; an embedded RECCO® avalanche rescue reflector; and seven zippered pockets: two handwarmers, two chest (one includes a secure media pocket with cable routing), one on the forearm, one interior drop-in for gloves or goggles and one interior stash. Fabric is bluesign® approved.

Men's Primo Down Jacket is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly warm I am so pleased with this purchase. It is the warmest most comfortable jacket. The color however is awful I just wish I could somehow get a new color but I can't because I got this one on sale. I just wish I didn't feel embarrassed wearing it out in public. I have many other Patagonia jackets and I am proud to wear them in public just not this one, it's really a shame but other than that this jacket is amazing and well worth it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Same Primo Down Jacket Keeps Getting Better I guess around four years ago I bought my first Primo Down Jacket (left), have used it in Canada, Minnesota, overseas, you name it, and it still looks new. This year I bought a second Primo Down Jacket for the high visibility color for riding my road bicycle and mountain bike in bitter cold. The new Primo Down has the same fit as my older one, same attention to detail in it's construction, remains bomb proof, seems to be slightly more breathable perhaps due to the higher 800 loft down now used, and of course it is wind proof. The 800 fill down and and 2L shell lets me fold the jacket length-wise, then roll it in to a tight elongated ball so it goes in a corner of the bike pannier (pictured right). All in all, this of course remains a premiere ski jacket, but is imminently flexible for whatever activity has you outdoors in the cold; and, by the way, I have no problem wearing the black one over professional clothes. I am 6'1", 190 lbs., and I take a Large.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Jacket I am 5'9 weight 185 athletic build. I bought a MEDIUM and it fits just right. I could add another layer if needed. The jacket runs size big. I buy large in most shirts and jackets. I bought this jacket as a multi purpose winter jacket. Need something warm, wind and water proof. I do feel the jacket is over priced.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for frigid Chicago winters I have to admit I was a bit skeptical given the large price tag but Patagonia rarely disappoints so I thought I'd give this jacket a shot. Overall, very impressed. I'm 6'1 170lbs and I went with my usual large and the fit is great. I'm not a fan of Patagonia relaxed fit items so this was certainly an exception. With even just a Better Sweater underneath, this jacket provides incredible warmth, while not being bulky or feeling like you have a lot of extra weight on you. I spend a lot of time outdoors in frigid temperatures so I have a feeling this jacket and I will spend a lot of time together for many years to come. If you spend a lot of time outdoors and are on the fence, I'd say give this jacket a shot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wow, I am so saddened and dissapointed So the good news first: I had this same Jacket from a few years ago (Medium In white with Green accents) and it was probably the best jacket I have ever owned. The shell itself was bomb proof, perfect amount of insulation etc. Well sadly my car was broken into and my Jacket was one of the items stolen. The same day this happened I came online to replace the jacket and was overjoyed the same model (Primo) was being made. I was a little bummed out that the White was no longer available but no biggie the Navy and Green look nice too. Bad News / Reality: When it arrived today it was just night and day. I really cannot believe the difference in this newer version and what I got today. For starters the fit on this Jacket is insanely different than previous. I am 5'9" and the M would probably fit someone over 6 foot tall no problem. So theres the size issue. I wish that is where it ended. The quality of the materials seemed SO much worse than the older model, so much of a cheaper feeling et cetera. I am not sure if they are made somewhere differently or if they just decided to revamp the entire thing but case in point is it was nothing even close to the hardiness of the year or so older version. Frankly they should not even possess the same name. The zippers seem cheap, the outer shell seems like it would rip on any sort of altercation in the elements. Anyway, I really hate to write a negative review because I was so pumped to be able to get my old jacket back but new again. Heres hoping I can find online somewhere that may have the older version. And unless you are 6 foot plus do not even think about going bigger than a Small, I do not care what the getting guide says or how many under garments you are wearing.
