To call the Fiona versatile is an understatement. We’ve worn it on cold days in December and chilly nights in July. We’ve worn it over satin and pearls, surf shorts and definitely over nothing at all. The exceedingly feminine and lightweight parka is made from a windproof and water-repellent shell fabric with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish and insulated with Traceable Down (600-fill-power duck down traced from parent farm to apparel factory to help ensure the birds that supply it are not force-fed or live-plucked). Princess seams and straight quilting lines offer a contoured, but not overly snug, fit that flatters the body and charms everyone else. With a 2-way zipper, on-seam handwarmer pockets and a stand-up collar. Above-the-knee length.

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Traceable Down Insulation

Patagonia Traceable Down provides the highest assurance of animal welfare in the apparel industry. Every down cluster, in every one of our down products, comes exclusively from birds that were never force-fed and never live-plucked. How do we know? We hired an independent third-party expert to trace and verify our down supply chain from farm to jacket–and every step in between. Learn more

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coat! I borrowed a Fiona parka for an 18-day trip to Spain in December. I was so impressed, I decided to order my own when I got home. This coat keeps you warm without adding bulk. I highly recommmend it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Longer down jacket. I like the color and longer length of this jacket. However, it is not as warm as I would have expected. Not sure why it is less warm than a jacket I borrowed (a Marmot) of the same weight down. I am not sure it was worth the price I paid. Had it not been for Patagonias donation of half the price to environmental causes, I would have returned the jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this parka! I love the Fiona! I have been loyal to my down sweaters for years. I really wanted bootie coverage.... The Fiona fit the bill perfectly. It is really flattering so can be dressed up or dressed down.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Warm, Poor Quality, & Bad Fit I bought this jacket in dark green about three months ago because I moved to Boston. It was more expensive than the regular down jackets so I figured it would be equally warm, and that I was paying extra for the lightweight-ness. I was so wrong! If I go out in this in anything colder than thirty degrees I'm left freezing. The quality also isn't good. The very first time I wore it I noticed that the feathers were starting to poke out of all the seams and stick to my clothing. This problem has only gotten worse with time despite taking excellent care of it. It's not even slightly water repellent like it claims to be- the lightest drizzle soaks through the fabric in minutes. As far as fit goes, the shape of this jacket flares out at the bottom and is unflattering and strange looking. The zipper also never lays flat when walking. If you're in between sizes I would recommend sizing up. I was between sizes and went for the smaller of the two, but didn't realize it was so fitted- it's hard to layer even a sweater under, so bigger is better! Pros are that it's extremely lightweight and the hand warmer pockets have sleek-looking invisible zippers that don't show when they're zipped up. I also like that the down is traceable and responsibly sourced, but all of Patagonia's products are like that, so you're better off with any other jacket besides this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite coat! I bought this coat for myself and loved it so much I bought another for my Mother for Christmas. She is a stylish 60 something grandmother in it! Very warm for a cold Maine winter- yet light weight!
