Anytime storm clouds build and precip falls, whether wet snow or pouring rain, our Piolet Jacket remains unfazed. It protects, moves and breathes with a supple 2-layer polyester waterproof/breathable and windproof GORE-TEX® fabric that has a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. The hanging liner is made of a brushed and wicking mesh in the body, with smooth-layering taffeta in the sleeves; and the drop-collar design on the helmet-compatible, 2-way-adjustable hood provides exceptional coverage and visibility. Finer details include minimal-welt exterior and interior storm flaps on the center-front zipper; extremely low-bulk, watertight, coated pit zips; and three external pockets (the jacket also has an internal zippered security pocket). With low-profile contoured cuff closures and full-reach gusseted underarm panels for mobility.

Water Resistant

(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

The construction of 2-Layer GORE-TEX® Products is unique. A GORE-TEX® membrane is bonded to an outer material, then combined with a free-flowing lining. The benefit: a soft, lightweight garment that keeps you dry and lets you move freely.

The GORE-TEX® membrane has 9 billion pores per square inch, with each pore 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet. These tiny holes are too small for water and wind to pass through from the outside. But these same pores are large enough for moisture vapor to pass through, so your body's perspiration is able to escape and you won’t feel clammy or uncomfortable inside your jacket.

Women's Piolet Jacket is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, roomy, durable and dry I recently tested this jacket climbing multipitch in Red Rock Canyon NV. It held up very well against the sandstone during crack climbing, was comfortable during approaches and descents and kept me dry and warm during rain and wind. I bought the jacket a size up so I can layer under it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile jacket I bought this jacket specifically for skiing. I had been looking for the "perfect" shell for several years and this jacket finally has everything I wanted. I tested it out over a three day ski trip in MT in a variety of conditions. I was able to fit a down jacket comfortably underneath, and it fit well with just a base layer too. I love the pit zips and the hood. It kept me totally dry in wet, heavy snow/sleet. The only not perfect part is the zipper, it could definitely be better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does everything it's supposed to Very satisfied with this purchase! Waterproof and windproof. Surprisingly warm for a shell. The hood is very functional and keeps the wind and rain out. High quality zippers. Lots of pockets and the pit zips are a plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted I bought this a month ago and finally took it skiing in CO this weekend. I wore it over just a light longsleeve baselayer and my new NanoAir vest in 25 degrees F and was warm skiing. The pit vents dump heat quickly and the pockets were easily accessible with my ski pack on. This was the first time I was able to comfortably wear my hood while skiing. It fit well over my helmet and the collar design allowed for full head/neck mobility without reducing visibility. I bought a large so it would fit over my down puffy in extreme temps and it doesn't look too big on it's own. I'm 5'9", 150lb and wear sm-med form fitting tops from Patagonia for reference. I wear mitten-style gloves and my only quip is that the zipper tabs are hard to grasp, I'll be adding extra bulk to them with some duct tape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the separate collar and hood system Lightweight and comfortable this jacket is no wimp. Good quantity functional goretex shell and it looks good on! I have worn it out on long days in the woods with temps below 15 Fahrenheit. Comfortable top layer and true to size.
