Quarter-inch sticks, snow seat belays and half-cheek bivy ledges – sometimes you just have to make do. When conditions dictate the need for bomber, waterproof/breathable and windproof big-mountain alpine climbing protection, our Super Alpines prove durable, dry and mobile. They feature 3-layer nylon new generation GORE-TEX® Pro fabric with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish, a tough nylon outer and a distinct micro-grid interior that optimizes breathability. The well articulated, low-bib design has stretchy, adjustable hook-and-loop suspenders to maximize mobility. Watertight, fully separating side-zips allow easy on/off with boots and also form a drop seat; two zippered pockets sit on the thighs; trim, watertight zippers throughout feature cleanly designed openings without excess weight and bulk. The ski-boot-compatible lower legs have full-cuff scuff guards, internal gaiters, shock-cord adjustments and tie-down loops.
  • A light, 40-denier 100% nylon GORE-TEX® Pro fabric delivers the same trusted levels of uncompromised, durable waterproofness and a wide range of breathability
  • Low bib design with hook-and-loop adjustable suspenders that stretch to prevent pants from riding up
  • Two-way, full-length separating side zips and suspenders’ snap-tab closure create drop-seat configuration
  • Two thigh pockets with Slim Zips reduce bulk and weight
  • Articulated patterning in seat and knees reduces bulk and enhances mobility
  • External scuff guard made from ultradurable 210-denier 100% nylon fabric protects against crampons and ski edges
  • Alpine- and ski-boot-compatible double-cuff has side zip, adjustable external cuffs, internal gripper elastic cuffs and tie-down loops
  • Shell: 3-layer, 3.7-oz 40-denier 100% nylon ripstop GORE-TEX® Pro fabric. Scuff Guard: 2-layer, 6.8-oz 210-denier 100% nylon with a PU-coating. Shell and scuff guard have a DWR (durable water repellent) finish

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Weatherproof

GORE-TEX Pro products have a 3-layer construction that comprises a special high performance GORE-TEX membrane, bonded to a tough outer material and a specially developed robust inner lining. The benefit: no movement between the three layers for exceptional durability and the option of combining the layers with insulation.

The GORE-TEX® membrane has 9 billion pores per square inch, with each pore 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet. These tiny holes are too small for water and wind to pass through from the outside. But these same pores are large enough for moisture vapor to pass through, so your body's perspiration is able to escape and you won’t feel clammy or uncomfortable inside your jacket.

Women's Super Alpine Bibs is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit I bought this many months ago, but have just now been able to use them. Very durable, good fit (can wear my down pants under them), easy to unzip to use the facilities, yay. They even look pretty good on me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly great I was specifically in the market for bibs because I'm tired of my snow pants scootching down with every little movement, and these do the trick! Like others mention, I wish the waist wasn't so loose--I'm a size 10/12 with a big butt and thighs but average waist. I'm sure a medium would be great around my waist, but I need the large to have enough butt and thigh room for active movement. Oh well--my jacket covers the baggy part, and the rest has a flattering cut. The other con is that the gaiters are about as wide as the outer leg opening and can't be adjusted smaller--kind of defeats the purpose of gaiters. But otherwise, I love them--easy to move in, suspenders are comfy and stay put, perfect balance of lightness and strength, the low bib avoids chest interference, easy bathroom access, and the grey looks great with any jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great touring pants PROs: durable, waterproof, zippers to vent, and the drop seat is nice for when nature calls! Overall, a great ski touring pant! CONs: the waist is baggy and no chest pocket for a beacon I'm 5'10' and have athletic strong legs (normally a size 8-10). I got a large because I wanted the ability to wear fleece or down pants underneath. The large is a little too roomy even, with fleece pants.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too wide and baggy in waist Seemed like great back country ski pants with nice lightweight material but the cut is just not right for my body. Length and hip and butt were fine but there was way to much extra space in the waist and low back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great touring pant These pants are perfect for alpine touring and boot packing around side country. They're fairly durable considering how thin the material is. They run true to size, I'm 5' 8" with an athletic build and the medium fits perfectly. They're also flattering as far as snow pants go. Down sides: they're really tight around the area where they go over your boot, so it can be a hassle to zip them all the way down. They are so thin they can be very cold if you don't have proper layers under them. They don't have a pocket on the bib part near your chest (which would be the ideal place to keep your beacon or a power bar).
