Our Yerba Pack opens as fast as the twist-off on a cold one. This streamlined backpack has a zippered, top-loading design for easy access to the main compartment so you can get at your gear quickly. Sized to hold everything you need for a full day on the trail, the Yerba also features a padded, raised computer sleeve (doubles as a hydration pocket) to protect most 15" laptops when you’re cruising through town. A zippered stash pocket on the lid keeps your small essentials within reach, and two stretch-woven side pockets carry water bottles or your hat and gloves. A large stretch-woven stash pocket on the face handles inevitable extras. The airflow mesh shoulder straps and back panel breathe for comfort on the long, hot haul. Made from 450-denier recycled polyester plain weave, with a 450-denier recycled polyester ripstop bottom. The lining is 200-denier 100% polyester. Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Yerba Pack 24L is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well built & functional Got this pack for our trip to Iceland, very functional easy big opening at the top, and even help my 17 inch MacBook Pro in the laptop storage on the flight… As always great product from Patagonia

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice and light and strong Great little pack. Very light. I know people like water bottle pockets but for a pack this small I think it could do without them. When you sling the pack over one shoulder things like keys or phones fall out of that large outside pocket. A little velcro fastener at the top would help. I have the Black Hole 25L also, which is there strongest pack I have ever abused.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super Sturdy but needs design revision I gave myself a year to review this bag. I have used this bag nearly everyday; using it as an office, climbing , hiking, camping... everything bag. It is extremely sturdy. Despite much abuse, it only has a few scuffs. Holds my computer really well too and has kept it safe despite many drops. The top loadig feature with the zipper around the top is no issue at all. Makes the bag safer I think. For the design flaws, there are some minor ones that Patagonia should address. There are no daisy chains and so when bag is full, the mesh side pockets cannot fit much- such as a nalgene for example. So the nalgene keeps popping out of the bag. The sliding chest strap on mine also keeps popping off which can get annoying as well. I recommend more space in the side pockets, a daisy chain and better grips on the chest straps. With those fixed, this is a perfect everyday bag!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good design, bad craftsmanship I bought this pack for the giant main compartment which was a perfect fit for my laptop and camera. Everything was going fine until my trip to Mexico. I brought the bag with me and two days into vacation, the chest strap snapped off. Turns out that this strap is not securely fastened to the shoulder straps, it is merely clipped on with a piece of plastic. I plan to return the bag and get a refund.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Awkward/ too Big I live in NYC, this pack is well made, but too big for my 5'4" frame. Unless it is packed to it's brim, it sags awkwardly. I returned it. I do think that this pack would be better suited for man. It's also not ideal for city life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Day Pack for Commuting and Light Traveling I bought this bag as a replacement for a bag that I've had for over a decade. The internal organization is just enough and the laptop sleeve was actually able to accommodate my 15.6 inch laptop. However, as my trip was an extended one, I returned it and got a Petrolia Pack 28L. While the Petrolia is the perfect size for my needs, it does not accommodate a 15.6 inch laptop as the side-zippered pocket opening does not stretch at all. I was just able to fit everything necessary for my trip into the Petrolia; some books, travel documents, laptop (though in the main compartment, not the side-zip pocket), a pair of shoes, a pair of flip-flops, a full change of clothes, a dopp kit, a first-aid kit, chargers, a water bottle, some stationery, a sweatshirt, and a rain jacket. However, the Petrolia is just slightly too large for what I bring out and about while traveling and I find myself wishing that I had been able to bring along the Yerba! Both bags are great, but the Yerba has the advantage of a laptop sleeve that fits a 15.6 inch Dell laptop, while the Petrolia does not. Additionally, the Petrolia has a waist strap, but the Yerba doesn't. The quality of both bags and the colors (French Red/Navy) are great. I would recommend both bags to anyone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Awkward to open and close the main compartment I have been using Patagonia packs for years. I finally decided to replace my pack and ordered the 24L. The pack is very good quality although the zippers do not feel as high quality as the previous Patagonia pack that I owned. My biggest issue is the awkwardness of unzipping the main pocket. Since the zipper path is in the shape of a "U" versus a straight line path, it requires me to use two hands to open and close the pack. As such I need to put the pack down on the ground in order to open or close the pack. This may seem like a small detail but it makes a difference as I use this pack to carry my computer and gear on a daily basis and open and close it several times a day. As a result I purchased a different style Patagonia pack which is designed with a simple left/right zipper path. This enables to me to open/close the pack with one hand. So if you are using this pack on a daily basis, you may want to consider a different model.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loved this bag until it rained Not water resistant! This bag is great for work and weekends- I love the pockets and accessibility. It carries all of my things for work and school (books and laptop), plus is great for hiking. Unfortunately, today I was walking on campus in the rain- not just a drizzle, but not the heaviest. My things in the small top pocket were soaked and it leaked into the main compartment, getting my laptop wet. Fortunately I had it in a sleeve, but if you get this bag expecting to keep valuables dry be careful. For the price and from the product description, I would not have expected this amount of rain to get the things inside wet.
