I wish Patagonia would make it clearer in the product title when something is unisex sizing. I bought this thinking it was womens sizing because it showed up when I was shopping in the womens category. Great quality and super cozy, but I unfortunately had to return it because it was too big.
Hi Zooey, thank you for submitting this review. We apologize for the confusion! We are working to make it more clear on our site that a product has a unisex design by depicting both men and women in the photos or videos, and by highlighting sizing tips. These are fairly recent additions, and may not have been visible when you ordered. Please let us know if we can be of any help!

So comfy
I ordered my normal medium but since it is unisex sizing I could have sized down. Decided to keep so I can use as a outside layer this winter
Almost love this but the fleece is so thick it is stiff. What should be soft and cozy just isnt. I have washed it multiple times hoping it will soften up.
Hey Elizabeth, thanks for the review. We're sorry to hear that the fleece is not comfortable on this anorak. We welcome you to send it back for a refund or merchandise credit. Some stitching issues, but overall the best fleece option
The pockets and zipper make it super convenient to wear. When I lead camping and backpacking trips I always have to have random things on my person around camp, and this just fits everything + keeps my hands warm if needed. I honestly don't see any reason for someone to go back to the classic but much less pocketed snap-T after this, except fo... Read Morer the problems I've had with the stitching around the elastic waist and wrist cuffs. For some reason, it unraveled and ripped a lot easier and quicker (first two months) than on the snap-T. Fortunately, Patagonia was super helpful with repairing the stitching, so I have no big complaints about it.
Super cute fleece, seems very warm and comfortable. I’m normally a size small in the women’s clothing and got a size small. It fits just slightly bigger in the top which I don’t mind but I wouldn’t want the bottom seam to be any smaller/tighter.
This pullover is amazing and I am only upset I didn't find it sooner. I have owned the Synchilla Snap T pullover for years and basically live in it in the colder months, but I was looking for something similar with pockets. I came across the forest green color in this model this year and decided to give it a shot, I was not in anyway disappoin... Read Moreted.
Compared to the Synchilla Snap T pullover , I was surprised to find that this one is much thicker and warmer. It will definitely be my new go to for the winter months.
I am 5 ft 6 in and around 140 lbs and purchased the small, its still a cozy, oversized fit but is not too long or baggy in any way in my opinion, but if you want a tighter fit definitely size down. I wear a medium in the Snap T.
I also really like the forest green color, something a bit different and colorful but still a winterish feel.
Because it is so thick, it most likely will not be the travel companion that my Snap T is as it is definitely not very packable, but it will be perfect for lounging at home, early hikes, car camping, and road trips :)
Thanks Patagonia for making the best gear!
This sweater is not as nice as the shearling button fleece pullover that I bulk bought, but it still feels very comfortable and roomy. It runs a bit large for the size I got, but it doesn't feel as form-fitting and soft on the body compared to other pieces in their collection.
Now this is completely my fault. I run warm and did not fully realize just how warm this jacket would be for how light it is. I spent some time sweating and feeling like I was melting. With that being said it was not too cold outside so it definitely wasn't the right weather to wear it. Now that I have learned I look forward to wearing it in t... I love this sweater and can't wait to wear it. I'm 5'7" and have another synchilla in a size Small that fits great (a tad baggy with room for other layers is how I like it). With that, this feels a little tighter and restricting than other synchillas, so I may be exchanging it for a size Medium and hoping for the best.
I really like Patagonia's pull-over fleeces. I love the side pockets on this fleece. I do not like the front pocket. the material on the flap covering the zipper is very stiff and unforgiving.
This is the second Synchilla I own. both are soft, like wearing a comfy blanket, and warm. It is a regular fit; not too tight nor too baggy. I think the zippers on the hand-warmer pockets are uncomfortable and think this could do without. Otherwise, it is a great winter layer!
The fleece keeps me super warm and the quality is really wonderful! It is definitely a men's fit so i have to roll the sleeves and the hem a little bit, but that's not a huge deal. My only complaint is that the vertical flaps on the side pockets are very stiff, which makes the front of the fleece feel even more bulky than it already is. T... Read Morehe pockets are very convenient, though. The color and the pattern are very beautiful.
I steelhead fish in the rain sometimes and I need a garmet that's warm and dries quickly. My fleece jacket fits the bill. It's good looking and can be worn with casual clothing or fishing gear.
This is a very warm sweater. I love the warmth and the color. The size is a bit tricky, though. I'm 5'4'' and usually wears XS, but this XS is a bit large. I wear it as an over-size and kind of cool with it.
I love this super warm fleece. I love the pockets and the style! My only problem is like some of the other reviews. The bottom hem and sleeve stitching, is coming undone. Second time wearing it an its falling apart .

Love it
Thick, warm, big pocket with a small pocket on top. Really love the fit.
Do not be fooled by the description that this is a more relaxed fit. It is very slim. I wear a True Medium in all brands, including Patagonia.

Unisex sizing
Super warm and love the pockets. Size down for women.
I bought this to wear in mid-west winters. It is a perfect weight for outdoor activities with a mid-weight capilene base layer for when the temps are in the upper 20's.

Great addition to the layers.
I was looking for a replacement for my 20 year old snap t and this looked perfect. And it is. The pockets and the zipped pouch are excellent. The fabric is comfortable and it. is. warm.
I weight 150lbs, 5'6-5-7 slim. Medium is on a bit bigger size but manageable. Small would be perfect for a regular fit. Not too big and not too small. Super warm and great quality.
Love this top! It is warm without the overheating. And has enough room to add a layer for extra warmth if wanted.love the center pocket. Great, simple color for jeans. Launders great. Fit is a bit large but I like the extra room.
This sweater fit more comfortably than expected. I have the nanopuff jacket and expected it to fit just as snug as that one in medium, but this felt more relaxed. It was a good fit and can comfortably wear it all day on a cool day.
Looks great on and cozy! Im 5 ft 6 and 140 lb woman and the medium was roomy. Love the half zip, zippered kangaroo pocket, high collar, thick fleece. Stingray mauve color is purply and i super love it, so glad I bought.
I'm 5-9" tall and 165-168 lbs and the medium fit is perfect. The medium has plenty of room for movement without being too big or too tight. I use this with merino wool base layers and a Goe-Tex outer jacket mainly for skiing. If it's very cold, I'll wear a nano puff jacket under the outer layer and over this Fleece Anorak.

The top pouch is shallow, so it's perfect for retrieving items that get lost in deeper pouches. The hand warmers on the sides as well as the pouch are mesh lined and storm flap covered. The collar is a little big to fit snug around my 15.5" neck but with an outer layer it snugs up to keep the warmth in.
The Forest Floor colors are very retro which really makes it a Patagonia stand out. The Synchilla is 100% manufactured recycled polyester which is a giant plus for the environment for future generations.
You won't be disappointed with this product if you like warmth, functionality, style and environmental consciousness.
I love this fleece. I love the pockets, the pouch, the color scheme the warmth, the half zip collar. This is a terrific garment, except for one thing. I tried my usual size xl, but the forearms were too tight. Then I tried the xxl. Still too tight to justify the purchase. great comfort and color scheme
I was looking for a pattern and the forest floor did not disappoint. Great look and excellent fit. The colors are more muted than the photos and it's still fantastic. I am 5'10" with an athletic build and Large was the right size.
I love this sweater so much because its such a cool design and also so comfortable! Ive been wearing Patagonias sweaters for a while now, but they did something different with this one and it really shows. Somehow they made it durable and super cozy at the same time. Definitely worth the money!

Cozy retro vibes
I was pleased to find a fleece with lots of zippered pockets, and on sale too! Dig the fun retro colors. Nice and cozy. Sizing is spot-on; I'm 6'1", 170 lbs. with a 38-inch chest. I'm enjoying this jacket, because I turned it into a vest. The sleeves were removed at the alteration shop. Now my arms move freely when walking/running. The three zippered security pockets are a big plus. The large kangaroo pocket has a shallow 5 inch depth, but It works well for my needs. I can leave my purse at home!
We are so stoked to hear you are enjoying your now personalized Synchilla Anorak! If there are any issues due to the alteration, we sadly won't be able to cover this under warranty. But it sounds like it will be with you for many years and adventures! That being said, our repair option will always be available.

Comfy
This is a comfy fleece, but not the most practical fleece for most people. I find that this Synchilla has a retro feel, that one learns to appreciate, like a retro car or device. I really love this item. It fits loose without being too baggy. Comfortable and stylish. AMAZING (But...)
I absolutely LOVED my Synchilla Anorak, but...unfortunately it seems there's an issue with the seam along the bottom and around the cuffs. It seems that there are several fleeces with this sort of stitching so my guess is it's just a faulty design for this round of apparel. I was able to exchange this fleece for another one with a different edging, but I would have much preferred to keep this one.
I greatly appreciate Patagonia's policy to stand by their product and to repair as needed, but unfortunately it seems this Synchilla fleece along with others like it in stitching will continue to have issues. Warm & well designed
This fleece pullover runs true to size. It is well made & the pockets are very handy.
