I was tried of wearing sweat shirts in the house, like to keep the thermostat set low. I thought correctly that the Fleece Vest would be a good replacement. It is my go-to in the house choice, thank you.
This is simply the best! Simple, straight forward, functional, and looks great in any situation! True warm, easy to pack, everyone should have a synchilla vest in their bag as a basic, must have. I wear mine mostly casually, but it functions well running, hiking, and fishing. It's a great value!
The fit was snug without being tight. But it shed fuzz on the shirt I wore under it. And the texture was not soft by rough or gritty. Like it was made from recycled polyester, which it was.
I bought this synchilla vest to replace one Id bought in the same color many yrs ago.
This vest runs in the small side. Im a size 6-8 and originally purchased the medium. I returned the medium for a large. The large was way too big on the top half but I figured I could take it in and make it work. Ive had to buy size large in everything Ive bought ... Everyday, everywhere
Perfect for all day long. Gotta remember to take it off because it is so versatile. Sitting around at home to going out to dinner.
if you dont want to wear something thick inside of jacket, this is a must have. Super light and warm. Loves color and fit. So happy with this purchase.
I have been buying Patagonia products for years, always reliable and well worth the money in my opinion because they last. This synchilla vest feels different than the one I left up North, but I just had to have one to layer for those cool Florida mornings on the golf course. This product is just like all of the 9 fleece and down products that I have. It is well made, performs as it should and looks good. I look forward and dread getting emails from Patagonia showing their products. I am running out of hangers but am so attracted to your products.
Durable Pata gear, as expected. Warm, with pockets perfectly placed. Like that its made from recycled stuff.
Been buyin' Chounard's gear since it was G P Iron Works, or whatever, 1970s
6'2.5" with 36 inch waist, the Large fits excellent. Nice details with zipped pockets, lining used for pockets does the job. Pilling has not been an issue on any of my Synchilla vests or pullovers. Great fabric, durable, overall excellent value and product.
I like the mens synchilla vest and like the longer length. I also like that it gives me room for a sweater underneath. Very lightweight but also warm. Eliminates my need for a jacket most days in the fall.
I needed a new vest, and decided to go with this one. It's a man size, and therefore longer in body length, which I'm really liking. Otherwise it as all the great Patagonia characteristics, and I look forward to many years of use.
Comfortable, warm and mostly the quality I expect from a Patagonia product. This particular item has a zipper issue though (hard to start) that I hope works out over time.
I liked the look of the item from the on line photo, I liked the price, and the item when received lived up to my expectations. I intend to buy another in a different color.
I bought this in oat for work and evening walks with my wife. It is very soft, lightweight and does not compromise in warmth. I am 62 200 lbs and I got an XL. I definitely should have gotten an L for a better fit but because it is a little roomy I am able to wear hoodies underneath it. If you are just trying to wear flannels or tee shirts underneat... This vest is a luxurious and very warm fabric, and I know from past experience that it is also very durable. The cut is designed for people with big bellies, so for tall and slender people (like me) a pillow could fit inside the vest with me.

I have tried a lot of different fleece vests and this one beats out all of the competition. The fit/warmth is exactly what you want it to be. Great for anything you throw at it. I need more colors.
This Patagonia vest has exceeded all my expectations for a light, warm, and weather resistant vest for hiking in Colorado in several climates. It is light, yet warm when needed, and extremely comfortable! I like the many pockets, even having pockets inside for small items and making it extra versatile. Highly recommended!
I bought my first vest from the store in Ventura, CA in 1993. I love this one just as much. Totally versatile, comfortable, and, as always, incredibly well made. Theres nothing you cant do with this go to piece.
Ive always been a fan of vests and this one in my new favorite. My go to vest for each day and Ive only had it for a week. Wonderful fit and very well constructed. Highly recommended.
It was surprising how bi this vest is! My hubs always wear XL... in all his clothes... this is very very big. Too big - sending back., it’s nice though overall.
Recently recieved this vest as a Christmas present.
Looks cheap. Fits cheap. I hope they didnt pay more than 5 dollars for it. If they did they spent too much.

Great vest. Warm and stylish
I love this vest and I wear it often in the fall and winter. It's one of my favorites. But I'm disappointed because it's pilling already. Otherwise it seems to be made very well.
Hi Joshua, thanks for taking the time to write us a review! We're stoked to hear that it's been keeping your warm but we're sorry about the pilling. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed so you're welcome to [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html#searchterm=return).

Fits great and is quite comfortable...looks good too.
Hi Cody! We're sorry to hear this item was too large for you. If you would like to initiate a return or exchange for a smaller size, you are welcome to do so [here](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html#searchterm=return).
Thanks for your feedback, Sean and sorry to hear about the pilling. To prevent pilling, we recommend washing it either by hand in cool to cold water, or separately in your washing machine on the gentle cycle. It's best to lay it flat to dry rather than place it in the dryer where the fabric can easily get upbraided. To remove pilling that has already occurred, a sweater shaver or sweater stone is an excellent tool and can help the vest look brand new again.

Great product!
Very comfortable and simultaneously warm and light weight!
i like them better than the new synchylla b/c new synchyllas (sp?) flair at the bottom (no elastic) and i like them tighter at bottom.
also i think this medium runs closer to how the old large fit me. i know i am not shrinking and now medium fits me better. hope this helps.
I still have my first Synchilla Vest that I bought back in the late 90s... Despite a few holes that resulted from the time I wore it welding (a few sparks and hot slag made it past my leather welding apron), its still in great shape. The original was well made and Im expecting the same from the new Classic.

I was looking for an inexpensive light (no bulk) vest that looks good and is easily worn under a jacket or coat. The Synchilla vest met all my requirements. Positives: good fit, nice and long. I usually fit an XL and my fit on this was L.
Other comments: I could not find a rating, but this seems like a 100 and I would have preferred 200 thickness. But still a nice vest.
Hi Chris! Thanks so much for the feedback regarding the weight of the fleece. For our more causal fleece products, we do not rate the temperature/weight. None the less, we are happy to give you our advice based off your specific needs. Additionally, we do rate our more technical fleece and those will be labeled on a scale of lightweight, midweight, to thermal weight. If it turns out that you need something a little warmer we'd suggest taking a look at the [Men's Retro Pile Fleece Vest](https://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-retro-pile-fleece-vest/22821.html).
I have enjoyed the the class synchilla vest quite a bit since I have purchased it. It is the perfect New England fall vest because it does not make you run warm, but since provides a lot of warmth during those chilly mornings. It feels durable and it quite comfortable as well.
I usually don’t wear vest but needed something light but that kept me warm during chilly days. And it has not disappointed. Live in NYC and it fits perfect for the type of weather we have. And whether you’re using it for going out, hiking, or for business casual, it looks nice.
The vest is comfortable but I discovered this morning that the vest was shedding onto my backpack. Today I put my backpack on with a white shirt and I was covered in blue fuzz. Not ideal.
Great feel and great product. I know that I will be wearing this a lot! If you’ve shopped Patagonia before, you know you’re getting your money’s worth.
The vest has a fabric that is really soft to the touch and looks great. I have two of these - in black and camel. The fit is better than my original synchilla vest and I like the additional pockets.
Great vest, slap your own logo on it and you've got that POWER VEST VIBE. just playin, nice vest, keeps me warm and is lightweight. wish they offered a slim fit on i though
Ok, Patagonia could really do a better job with their fit descriptions. Both the better sweater vest and the synchilla vest are labeled "Regular Fit" on the website. My husband loves this vest! It's perfect, not a huge commitment meaning it's not thick and bulky, yet gives you that extra bit of warmth on chilly winter days.
