lightweight and versatile layer

I buy and sell gear often depending on what works for me and this jacket has been with me for longer than most things I have. I LOVE this jacket for its versatility and its light weight. I used this jacket for hiking/backpacking, bike rides and even for casual use (can't help that it looks good). Anytime I need to block the wind or try and ret... Read Moreain body heat, I reach for the Houdini. It really breathes as well as I need it to but still keeps me sufficiently warm. This is a staple for my layering system.

Perfect, All-around Windbreaker

I've worn the Houdini windbreakers for years. I take it on every hike or backpack to break the morning chill or shield the afternoon breeze. Love the new design, particularly with the removal of the hood. Its ultra-lightweight and versatile - an essential for any trip!!

Nice Shell Just Doesn't Fit Me Well

Love the jacket but unfortunately like many Patagonia products I am in between sizes. I tried the large but it was to big. The medium was too tight. I have a 41 chest and sit right in the middle for most Patagonia products. I think mediums are for size 40 chest and large is 44. Been a fan of Patagonia for a while but I will have to move to another ... Read Morebrand unfortunately since my baggy fit days are behind me lol.

Perfect extra layer

I got this to stow for climbs and don for descents winter biking. It's also great to keep in my work bag during shoulder season in case weather turns unexpectedly. I didn't expect the hand pocket zippers, but they don't make it much bigger when compressed and the functionality is appreciated, especially if I'm in shorts without ... And I love the classic colors.

Great light weight jacket

Love this jacket. Perfect as a layering piece for wind protection and very light rain. My only issue with it is that its a little big. The medium is too small. Ive always been in between a medium and a large for Patagonia. I think the size in the chest for medium is 40 and large is 44. If there was a Marge and a 42 chest Id spend all my money here.... Good Wht. and length for wind breaker

I have yet to use the wind breaker. However, I do like length and wht. Very good construction should meet my needs well like all the other Patagonia products I use.

July 11, 2021

Super convenient

This wind shell is so light and compact that I have it with me almost all the time. I live in a temperate climate so wearing it over a shirt or a puffy vest is all I usually need. Plus theres a nice selection of colors. Highly recommended.

Addicted to the Houdini

This is my favorite jacket ever. It blows my mind how a few ounces can keep you so warm. I have a collection of these and love the added zipper pockets in this updated version. Definitely prefer the pullover to the front zip jacket but both are awesome to keep in the pack and save the day when the weather turns. This version is much bigger than the... Perfect

For those who want an EVERYDAY windbreaker this is the best purchase out there. This product is lightweight, true to size & more importantly high quality. In other words I don't feel like it will rip, tear or wear easily. It's held up over several washes. I will purchase another color at some point because I am extremely satisfied.

So light, so warm, so incredible!

I love this jacket! It's so light and easy to take anywhere. Looks good enough to go to work in and tough enough to hike and bike and climb in. I'm 5'9" to 5'10" and weigh 160lbs - size 31 waist - and a medium is perfect. I read reviews saying it was baggy - not at all. Love everything about it and should've bough... Read Moret it sooner!

This is THE BEST

Ok so I got a black thin jacket for my dad, he loves it, I wanted to steal it back (its a mojave trails windbreaker from Patagonia) its so light and warm when the sun hits it. So instead I buy this thing. And this thing is INCREDIBLE exactly as I hoped it would be. I see people saying its baggy, I was worried, but its not. Its not slim fit so it is... Read Morent. But it has the perfect amount of room in it to do most things in some really high class outdoor style. Thank you Patagonia

Best windbreaker of all time

A lightweight nylon pullover has been the most important piece of my daily layering system for 25 years. In winter I wear it over a fleece or heavy shirt with a down vest over all. Seriously great for splitting firewood, cold weather walking, cross country skiing. The Houdini has the highest quality materials and stitching of anything I've use... Read Mored before. Also extra features such side pockets that zip. After a year of working one pretty hard there is no visible wear. I recently ordered a 2nd one of the same color to have on hand in case of loss or discontinuation. Forge grey/black is fabulous. I tried medium size but it felt like a small. Large is slightly too big but not an issue really with something heavy underneath.

Great addition

Large fit perfect and still can use base layer. Very warm. Will buy another. True to size.

Favorite Windbreaker

I love these jackets. I wear them casually as well as for running. 510 150lbs medium fits great.

December 10, 2020

Super light weight, looks great, exceedingly poor breathability

I had purchased this pullover in the hopes of having a lightweight jacket for cool, dry, running days where wind was a factor. The ability of this pullover to pack down into its pocket and be carried in your hand is fantastic. What is less great, and renders this basically unusable is what appears to be a total lack of breathability of the fabric. ... Read MoreEven under light exertion the fabric appears to trap all moisture and the inside of the pullover is visibly wet. I have tried washing this pullover a bunch of times hoping that perhaps the breathability issues stem from the DWR coating and that it might wear off but with no success. My second, general critique is more personal - I struggle with Patagonia's sizing. I am 6'1, 170lbs, 38 chest, and wear a 15-34 shirt. Depending on the cut of an individual item, I am either wearing a medium that has enough space the shoulders and belly to layer 3 sweaters undernealth, or a small that is usually slightly too tight for public wear. This pullover actually falls in the sweet spot, and a small is trim and well fitting on me with two long sleeve shirts underneath while running. If Patagonia design staff are reading this, please make more items in the slim style!

Functional

I use it over my assortment of R1 pullovers, works well to keep any breeze off me and provide protection from getting too chilled if I have sweating. Not a big hoodie fan so the Snap T pullover works good for me

I really enjoy wearing this mens windbreaker. Im a girl and I love the ultra pink color! Thats what sold it for me. Haha! Its a light material so perfect for misty or windy days. Breezy and nice!

Well, Ive worn these featherweight coats of Patagonia for years! Im super bummed they changed the perfect design it used to be! I preferred the zipper over snaps! And it FER SURE needs a HOOD! Perfect for spring

Too cool for just a t-shirt? Too warm for a jacket? Windy or rainy? Pop this bad boy on and go to town. Or to nature. Wildly comfy and durable. Love that it folds up into a tiny pocket. Wish the cuffs had a little more stretch so I could push them further up, but thats my only complaint.

Best Pullover I Own

I wear this so often I have to pull myself away from wearing it so I dont wear it out. It is true to size and it is very comfortable. There is not anything about it that I would recommend getting fixed. You can wear it anywhere for any occasion and it works. Great Product!

not ideal for running

I want to start off by saying I’ve been using Patagonia products for years surfing and rock climbing and absolutely love the quality and function which is why I’m writing the review. Houdini Snap-T

This is a great pullover windbreaker. I use it mostly for casual wear. Only wish Patagonia made an all black one. Fits a little wide, like most Patagonia product does.

November 21, 2019

Great Product

Very versatile and lightweight. I love this product and is so easy to fit in a day pack or to just throw it on over a normal outfit. Also is a great windbreaker or shell from light weather. 10/10 recommend

I bought it because I needed something to get me from the car to the hospital a couple of blocks away when the weather is less than ideal, but not raining. Read More the couple of hours I spend inside. This works perfectly. The fit works for me. I'm older now and have more weight than I want, but this is comfortable over a dress shirt. Stylish too. Thanks Patagonia for a windbreaker I can take just about anywhere!

Very light weight great for

Very light weight great for running in the cool morning or with a slight sprinkle. Fits a more snug that I thought but it still fits. All in all I love it.

September 17, 2019

Perfect

the fit is perfect and it looks so good and is very comfortable! I normally wear large but I normally get medium in Patagonia Jackets.

September 17, 2019

Some changes

I lost an original Houdini pullover and bought a replacement—they are not the same! The original was trim and perfectly fit my body. The new one I just received is baggy and too large. Bummed that Patagonia messed with the fit—not a fan of this size. An adjustable waist like the original would be welcome too.

Houdini Is Always a winner

Love this windbreaker, perfect for travel & hiking and it breaths....

August 29, 2019

Love it for late summer

Great classic Snap-T look. Packable houdini material. I am broad so it fits baggie but looks trim on me. Great purchase.

August 29, 2019

Comfortable and good looking

Great lightweight pullover that will come with me on my boat runs to find fish. It is just slightly too big for me so if you are in between M and L I would recommend getting a M.

August 22, 2019

Great Quality!

The Houdini jacket fits true to size and is made of a great material. It is a light jacket similar to a windbreaker. I also like that this jacket folds into a small pouch; making it perfect for packing.

Regular fit Houdini Pulliver

Terrific fit! Great backup for those warm days when the wind shifts and it becomes cool. Great piece.

August 10, 2019

Handy and useful

This is a great cover to keep in my golf bag, for early-morning walks, and generally just an all purpose cover up.

May 8, 2019

Lightweight, windproof, water resistant, but a little baggy

I bought this pullover to be a windproof layer for cycling. It does the job in all respects and packs down small enough to fit in a jersey pocket or small saddle bag. Love the Houdini Snap-T Pullover !!!

Perfect for weekends or the daily commute. Really enjoy the two hand pockets. Great fit. Have purchased two and will be buying 2 more.

Best version yet!

I'm currently on my third Houdini pullover (first one was too big, but the next one was too small because it was "athletic fit"). This iteration is back to the regular fit, and it's perfect for regular guys like me, who maybe have a bit of extra cushion in the belly. Packs small, perfect for running. I find the hood unnecessary-... Read More if it's raining enough for a hood, it's raining too much for the fabric to combat. So, the pullover is the perfect lightweight shell. Just take it with you

When I first got this I wondered how I was going to use it. It seemed so flimsy. Fast forward three years and I can't imagine a trip or activity I wouldn't take this with me. It is so tiny that you don't have to worry about it! Whether it's going for a winter run, or backpacking in the Smokies this guy is never left home.

a true windbreaker- the Houdini has DWR

As a forester in northern New Hampshire, I need a true windbreaker that is 100% breathable.
