Different texture from the Capilene Hoodie
I love my Capilene Cool Sun Hoodie and was really excited to get another long sleeve without a hood or high neckline. However, the texture on this shirt is much rougher and less flexible than the hoodie and it runs much smaller. I'll sadly have to return this.
We're sorry to hear the fabric was disappointing and welcome a return. For the more silky feeling fabric, you'll want to check out our [Capilene Cool Daily and Capilene Cool Lightweight Technical Shirts](https://www.patagonia.com/shop/womens-technical-shirts). thinner than old Capilene trail material
love these long sleeve Capilene shirts. i own six of the older version and gained weight so had to get one slightly bigger. this newer version is thinner and flimsier. they are all a bit small in the arms. Patagonia tend to not increase arm girth with size increase. otherwise, i like the shirt and hope to lose weight and fit into my older ones soon... Read More because they're better!
I was surprised that the Light Plume color shirt that I got for Christmas appears to have a thicker fabric than the navy one I purchased after Christmas. Kind of confusing?
We appreciate your feedback, David! We haven't revised this product since 2020, so we will reach out to you by email to gain a better understanding of why the two colors feel so different and if you need to return or exchange. Thanks for taking a moment to review it!
Beautiful shirt, not for me, picture misleading
I really like Patagonia shirts - the material, the feel, the drape. I'm short, but large busted, so I usually get a large or XL and hem the shirt. (I wish they made a petite range in their women's clothing). I ordered this shirt in the Striped, Dusky Brown. I liked the pattern, the color and the material. Unfortunately the scoop of the ne... Read Moreckline is just way too wide and low for me and I am returning it. I went back to look at the picture to see how I got it wrong and realized that putting a size small on a 5'9" model looks a lot different than a size large on a 5'3" person. I hope my experience encourages other customers to take a closer look at the pictures before ordering. It would also help if Patagonia used a wider size range of models to understand how an article might look on an individual.
There has to be some kind of sorcery involved here. Keeps me warm when its cool, cool when its warm. Only shirt I found that met the challenge of packing for a month in the UK in a small carry on - 3 of these for two weeks on trails (odor control + dries almost instantly with hand wash) and two weeks in cities because the scoop neck gives it a more... Read More polished look for out and about. Fit is perfection (which I did not find to be true with its short-sleeved cousin). Colors are somehow both muted and rich. Not sure how this all got packed into one unicorn of a shirt.
Low neckline and blah color
Super disappointed in this shirt. It does not drape as long in the back as I thought it would, the neckline in front droops super low which makes wearing a sports bra tricky, the arms were tight and the color was so muted compared to the photo. Not a fan! Dont want to go through the hassle of returning by mail but probably will never wear!
Hey Molly, thank you for the feedback. We're sorry to hear that it didn't work out. If you'd rather not send the shirt in to return, you're welcome to return in store as well if that's easier. Very light. It is a slim fit, too young for me. Darn. Should be great for summer! Very well made!
We're sorry to hear this one didn't fit well, but we appreciate your feedback. You may prefer the slightly more stretchy fabric of our [Capilene Cool Daily shirts](https://www.patagonia.com/shop/womens-capilene-cool-daily-shirts). Thanks again for your review. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service team if you need anything at all!
With a name like capilene cool I expected this shirt to be lighter weight. It is too hot for summer hiking. I bought it for kayaking, but have not used it for that yet. I also found the odor resistance to be lacking. I cannot wear it for more than one day if I get sweaty. I like the scoop neck for temperature control - I can wear it with or without... My new fav long-sleeved tee!
I love this shirt! The fit is flattering, the neckline isn't too low-cut, the fabric is so lightweight and breathable, and the colors are really pretty. It's high-performance enough for workouts, but pretty enough to wear to work with a cute skirt. I love it so much I ordered several in different colors.
Comfortable and versatile base layer
I purchased this shirt as a base layer for a trip to the Kenai Peninsula and Denali. It was comfortable in temperatures from 40F (with a vest and jacket) up to 70+F and did a great job at sun protection. It was also super soft! It was a great companion to the Cap/Cool Merino shirt that I wore on opposite days from this one on the same Alaska trip.
a little stretch
This shirt, conceptually is good, but it is too long and too narrow with absolutely no stretch or give, so not really that comfortable and does not look particularly attractive on me. Maybe it would fit someone who is taller, better.
We appreciate your feedback on the fabric, sizing and fit. Don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like any [help](https://help.patagonia.com/s/) to return it!
Soft and warm
The low scoop neckline lets me to wear this under almost any shirt and it remains invisible. The thin, lightweight fabric means that it doesn't feel bulky or bunchy. But, despite being thin, it is remarkably warm and soft. This is my favorite base layer. I just wish you still had the yellow available in small. If you find one hidden in a dark ... I could not possibly love the fit, softness, and color more. My niece said, why do you wear that shirt every day? I DID, however, notice that after a few wears, it has pilled very hard on the forearms where they rest on a desk. It looks extremely worn. But I love it. I think too much to send it back. I did compare it to the navy capilene cool trail... Read More shirt I saw in rei a few weeks ago, and the material felt completely different. It seems lighter and thinner in the navy. How could this be? Did I possibly buy an older model in the purple color? Im curious.
I usually wear a small. Ordered a small and found that this shirt fits bigger. They are a bit long and see-through, however I don't mind as I wear it during outdoor activities. I'm petite, top isn't!
Since I'm only 5' 103 lbs, this top wasn't a good fit. Neckline was too wide, top was long and baggy on me. Otherwise fabric and camp green is nice. Will be returning for a credit if I can.
We are sorry to hear that the top didn't work out and yes, you absolutely can [send](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html) that back to us. Thanks for the feedback.
Rather see through
I received this shirt and the shirt sleeve shirt for a gift in the purple color. While I like the fit I find it very see through. Best Lightweight Layer
I LOVE THIS SHIRT. I needed a longsleeve layer for running when the temperatures start to dip, but it's not cold enough to need a jacket... this is perfect. Read Moren snow on a long training run and was super happy. It's so soft and warm, it's easily taken over as my favorite longsleeve layer to run in, and I'll need to get more! I don't love all the color options and hope Patagonia comes out with some more colors to choose from, but that's literally my only complaint.
Long Sleeved T-shirt
I am never disappointed with products I have ordered from Patagonia. Purchased my first Patagonia rain coat in 1985. And have ordered or purchase many items sine. Because I am now older and weigh a bit more than I did 30 years ago, I was pleased to find a couple products in sizes XX. Thank you
Comfortable and Versatile
This shirt is perfect for just about anything - hiking, yoga, cycling, casual wear, etc. It's thin and breathable and works comfortably with layers over it. The cut/fit is perfect - scoop neck, hip length, slim but not snug. I'm 5'2" 110lbs, athletic build and XS fits perfectly. Incredibly comfortable.
Great for daily use too
I've only worn my capilene cool trail a couple of times for running as I bought it at the end of outside running season for northern Canada. Once in the pouring rain, and stayed fairly dry considering. I mostly wear mine for daily use and love it! Soft material that fits well. I have a longer torso for being 5'8" and is long enough f... The fit (loose and flowy), the fabric, the color, the comfort, all perfect. I don't find the sleeves to be too tight or too long (per other reviews), just long enough to fully cover my wrists. I usually wear a medium in Pat tops and that's what I got. The teal green is beautiful. Flattering and I barely know I have it on (which I do right... Read More now).
Best personnel ever
I bought some things online that did not fit. Not only did the clerk graciously process the return she asked what I was looking for and made several suggestions for substitutes. Sleeves tight and long
I love the fabric of this shirt, but like other reviewers found the sleeves to be tight around the upper arm--and I don't lift heavy weights --and too long. The short sleeved version of this shirt fits well, and I had hoped the long sleeved version would be good for both casual wear and travel. I have long arms, and often find sleeves too shor... Read Moret, so for others this may be even more of a problem. While I think the scoop neck is good for the short sleeved version, I like it less for a long sleeved fall shirt.

the perfect scoop long sleeve
I love this shirt. I am usually between a regular and petite so either brands work for me or they just don't (too long, too short, too boxy). I'd probably be the happiest person in the world if I only owned these as my shirts. Perfect for anything - River Trips, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Fishing, Under the jacket for skiing, or even casually at work or out on the town. I'm in love. Thanks Patagonia.
I love the Capilene Cool Trail Tank that I purchased, so I decided to try the long sleeve t-shirt too. Perfect versatile spring/fall top
I have this in several colors and it is my weekend go to top for the spring and fall “shoulder” seasons. It Didn't Work for Me
I purchased both this long-sleeved Capilene Cool Trail shirt and the long-sleeved Capilene Cool Daily shirt at the same timer. I LOVE the cool daily shirt, and will be ordering another. Long Sleeve T for hiking
I only gave a 4 star because the shirt met all needs except two, the fabric and fit were great. I'm 5'4" and 115 lbs. so not too long on me. Tight up top, flowy on the bottom
Hi! Let's just cut to it. I'm 6' about 190 pounds with super broad shoulders. Typically I wear an XL in all Patagonia items. This shirt is a bit strange. I love how it all fits except across the shoulders and the arms. From the model it looks like the sleeves should be a bit loose to allow for airflow. But, the sleeves are tight! No... I am 5’5” and 130# and the sleeves hang below my knuckles and the length of shirt is also overly long. I liked the fabric and scooped next. I returned it.
