I had been eyeing these shorts since they were introduced and finally bought them this spring, just in time for the early season heat wave in the PNW. Ive now worn them on multiple short runs (easing back into it postpartum), and they have been GREAT. Im 5ft6in and an athletic but curvy 180lbs, and the XL is perfect. Some room in the legs, but they... Read More don't ride up, and the waist stays put. I typically wear L in most Patagonia bottoms, but I like a bit of wiggle room in the fitted styles. I bought the blue patterned version, and it's super cute and fun. Will order the black once they have my size back in stock, too. New fav for running and other hot weather pursuits!
Just wore these shorts for a very warm marathon. They were amazing. No issues at all with chaffing. You can barely even feel these shorts - they are buttery soft. Highly recommend for running long distance in warm/hot weather. Just a note - they don't have any compression. But they stay in place better than some tight shorts with compression t... Read Morehat i have tried. Just enough pockets and was pleased that the back pocket has a little loop for securely attaching a key (the key probably wouldnt have come out without attaching, but i didnt want to take the chance). Great shorts, will be buying a second pair.
I bought these when training for my first 100 mile mountain race (Leadville 100). Through training, my loose shorts began to chafe and rub, so I switched to tighter styles. I first wore these 38 miles into a 50 miler where I was having some chafing, and finished in comfort. So of course I promoted them to my 100 miler kit. I ran 100 miles in them t... Read Morehrough the mountains with zero issues, realizing at around mile 80 that they'd been inside out the entire time (good thing they were black). Rather than change things at that point, I kept going and finished without any major chafing or discomfort (from the shorts). Pockets and logo go on the OUTside! But maybe I should just make this tradition?
I wear these shorts on 75% of my runs and I love them. I sized up for a looser fit and they still dont ride up on your legs. Pockets are perfect for keys and gels. Back pocket works to thread a light shirt layer through once you get warm. I got these and the Janji groundwork shorts at the same time and Patagonias have far superior quality.
These shorts look great on me and seem to fit well. I also love the pockets. Unfortunately they rode up during my run. I bought them especially for running and was hoping that the shorter cut would work out, but cannot run in them.
Thank you for this review, Anna. We're sorry to hear these shorts aren't working for running for you. Please keep in mind you are always welcome to [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html) anything that doesn’t work out for you.

Great shorts!
These shorts fit me well. For a point of reference, I would normally choose size 6 for Patagonia bottoms. I love the big pockets and the back key pocket. It would be great if an elastic loop could be added to the back key pocket so I could secure my key with a carabiner. Love these shorts!
This item is the perfect fit for me. Tight where needed and relaxed in other areas. I love the thick waist line and the thigh length. Also, love the two side pockets where I stored my phone while night hiking the Grand Canyon R2R. I got the grey and am considering getting different colors.
I'm writing this review for women like me who are active but don't fit the active body mold and read these reviews looking for honest feed back in hopes of finding shorts that actually fit.... I'm a 5'7 distance runner thats on the thicker side. I bought these shorts with high hopes for wearing them during my 50k at the end of t... Read Morehe month. I took them out on their first run and they are utter garbage. With in the first mile they rode up and it just got worse from there. Now, 3 miles into it I'm waddling back home with hamburger inner thighs (rubbed raw from chafe-age).. I really hope some day Patagonia becomes more inclusive to all types of runners. Especially ones likes me who scour various reviews searching for a pair of running short that actually fit someone that doesn't have a thigh gap..
Hi Kayleigh! We truly appreciate you taking the time to write us a review. We're really sorry to hear about the disappointment with the shorts. It's definitely upsetting to hear how badly they rode up, and caused such discomfort. Feedback like this is crucial to improving products for future seasons. Each season we add more depth in sizing to dozens of new and existing styles in our line, so you can be sure that we'll continue to add more options in the future. We are moving in the right direction, albeit slowly, and your feedback is highly valuable toward this goal. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed so you're welcome to [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html).

Great for running
I love these shorts and have worn them for every run this week. I wish there were more colors available! I went for a looser fit and am glad I did. The shorts hold your phone and key well and dry really quickly.
I wore these shorts while training for a 26k. They are fine for my shorter runs- the fabric is great, the pockets are useful, and the drawstrings are a nice addition. However, I made the mistake of wearing them on a 10 mile run and have never had such bad chafing on a run before. For context, I am 5'1" and 111 lbs, but my inner upper thig... Read Morehs are developed from horseback riding, so throughout the run, the shorts were rolling up and the seams were chafing the opposite thigh. I was hoping to get more use out of these but will definitely have to limit their use to lighter/easier days
I really like these shorts for running! They don't ride up my thighs and the pockets are nice and big to fit my phone, snacks, windbreaker, etc. I was unsure about how they would fit but I prefer these to other Patagonia shorts. I would definitely recommend them.
I loved last years endless run short, so when I saw this years with a new color I ordered them. The waist is higher (they hit around my natural waist). On me, the legs crept up (not last year) and the crotch. It was so uncomfortable. I ran a 5k in them and then wore them around town for a few hours and I could not wait to get home to take them off.... Read More Glad I bought two of last years shorts. I am sure they will fit other bodies, but unfortunately not mine this time around. Patagonia, as always, was great and allowed me to return them.
Hey Nancy, thank you for providing us with this feedback. We checked to see if there was a redesign on these shorts and you're correct, we made some changes for Spring '22. The fabric was changed from a 8.5-oz 79% recycled polyester/21% spandex power-stretch knit blend to a 5.7-oz NetPlus 74% postconsumer recycled nylon/26% spandex power-stretch knit blend. We also added an external drawstring and changed the inseam length from 4.5" to 4". We're sorry to hear that these changes were less than favorable for you and will make sure that our designers are aware of this feedback. If your heart is set on the past season version, we recommend keeping an eye on our Worn Wear website where we sell lightly used gear from past seasons. We're not seeing shorts at this time, [just some capri options](https://wornwear.patagonia.com/p/patagonia-ws-endless-run-capileneris-womens/24525?color=BLK&aqi=a0918ff60df4c29050f577109e09b163), but we recommend checking back because we add to inventory everyday.

Not Just for Women.
These shorts are also great for humans who identify as cis male and have the courage to wear whatever kit they want to get rad in! Thank you Patagonia.
Perfect running short! The new version is so much better than the last version. Patagonia thought about every detail. Thank you for make this length, so many shorts are 7" and that is so long. Perfect length, fit, pockets.
Its so hard to find shorts with side leg pockets. I own this in a Small (fits like yoga or tight running shorts) and Medium (fits like casual shorts ie a loose fit thats longer for an everyday look).
I changed into these after my usual go-to shorts started rubbing during my first 50 mile trail run. These were a new purchase at the time of the race, so rather untested on hot steamy long runs in Wisconsin. But for the last 12 miles of my run, zero problems and they hid dirt/gu/sweat/wetness like a boss. Highly recommend.
The new model of these shorts is PERFECT! The old ones fit weird and were not true to size, but these ones are so comfortable and stretchy. I love the pockets. It makes every other pair of shorts I wear, nothing in comparison to these. I love them for climbing, because other shorts will come out of my harness and show more skin than I would like. T... Read Morehese are lovely, and I own 3 pair now. My only with is that I could trade in the old pairs for the new ones!!
I got size small hoping it was fitted but not too tight. The length is great and the pockets are great. I can run roads, trails, do yoga in these. Weight 118 pounds with a straight, boy shape and I love these shorts!
These are the best shorts of this style out there! I wear them all of the time. They are so comfortable and I love the pockets on both sides. I would love to see more colors!
These Endless Run Shorts are perfect. The length is respectable, the fit is awesome, and they are super comfortable. They don't feel too snug around the waist. I'm so glad I decided to give these a try. I normally wear XS in Patagonia and purchased these shorts in XS. Fit true-to-size. Great for running, hiking, errands, yoga, climbing, e... Read Moretc.
Not quite what I'd hoped for. After purchasing the Spring 2021 version of this short and feeling like the waist band could be improved, I was excited to try the 2022 iteration with the drawstring. The sizing on these was inconsistent with 2021, and the newer iteration runs larger. Also felt like the fabric was thinner and stretched our more ov... Read Moreer a 2hr run, so in the end the shorts felt saggy. Maybe I should have tried a size small? For reference, I'm 5'3'' and 130lbs, muscular legs. A note on inseam length: Any thoughts on making a compression short with a 5-7 inch inseam? The short shorts might appeal to those with less muscular legs, but for me, I'd love a short that's long enough to ensure fabric:fabric contact where my thighs touch. These were a chafing nightmare.
Thank you for sharing such a detailed review, Karis. This feedback is extremely helpful to our product designers, and to other customers. We're so sorry these shorts were a disappointment! Please let us know if we can be of any help with your return.
