I cant imagine why any would have anything bad to say about this pullover. I had an old heavy weight sweatshirt I lost someplace that was my go to. Sadly it was left somewhere and never recovered. I NOW HAVE A REPLACEMENT! AND THIS TIME WITH POCKETS! Seriously this thing is great. Comfortable right out of the mailbox. Fit loose enough you could add... Read More a layer underneath and still feel like you can move. Its been washed a few times and no signs of the pilling some folks pointed out. I could care less if it did. This is a piece I would immediately buy again should anything happen to this one.
I had an ancient cotton/wool pullover that was getting very tattered, and no longer is made. So looking at a replacement, this seemed ideal. I initially developed a rash, even where there was no skin contact, called Patagonia, and they listened, and offered an exchange. I decided to wash it several times, and once the rash went away I wore it and t... Read Morehere were no problems. In colder weather I wear it around the house, and also while bicycling on the local trails. It is fantastic. In early May, I did a three day bike trip on the GAP (Greater Allegheny Passage) Trail, and we had what is known as weather, and this was absolutely perfect to wear. And on top of it, it looks nice.
Wished that I loved this more...(challenge on fitting)
I acquired my "first" shearling/3-button pullover (in Large size) last year and immediately loved its styling, comfort, weight, etc., -- i.e., especially the way it looked and fit. BTW, I've been a long-time Patagonia fan/customer/advocate, particularly after spending a day with founder, Yvan Chouinard in 1988.
After I laundered th... Read Moree garment a couple of times (paying attention to wash/care instructions); I noticed that the pullover's fit was becoming blousy in the torso, with raglan sleeves starting to lose their elasticity. I wondered if the baggier fit was related to me (getting fitter), ...or was derived from a garment defect, ...or combination of the two factors, or...?
Giving Patagonia the benefit of the doubt, I just ordered and received my next 3-button pullover, this time one-size-down (Medium) -- to address (?) the baggy/blousy issue. This new Medium size -- delivered last week, fits snugly - e.g., my wife and daughters think the "look" is more stylish; but (to me) the fit feels a bit too "close" for complete, cozier comfort. Based on this, I just ordered a Large size that I'm hoping will somehow fulfill my needs better -- i.e., with appropriate comfort, style/look, AND quality/durability in line with what I'm used to expecting from Patagonia -- i.e., before my first (baggy, deteriorated) experience with this 3-button pullover/product. I hope, and will be curious to see how /if anyone on Patagonia's service team will respond.

My daily go-to
I absolutely love this pullover. Although it pills a bit at the sleeves, it's so comfortable that I bought three of them! I have one medium and two large, and the large fits perfectly for me. I love my clothing a little loose, so the medium felt a bit tight but definitely still wearable for my size/height.
Warm and retro-stylish with an area for improvement; the piping around the seams looks threadbare, like the garment is losing its pile. You can actually see in some of the pictures when you zoom in. At the price point I would expect near-perfection with some small caveats. I don't think anyone expects to really be taken seriously while wearing... Read More fleece, so it's forgivable, but it's something I'll pay attention to as long as I own the garment. I didn't return, but I wanted to like it more.
This shirt is cozy and warm without being overpowering. My favorite purchase from the month of March, I'm literally wearing it right now as the email prompted me to write a review.
I just really enjoy the look and feel. Fits me perfectly, and I have longer than average arms with a short torso. Im 6 feet tall and 200 lbs. Honestly will probably get a second one just to have another color and include in my regular rotation
Pros = looks cool af
Cons = 0
Great for lounging around or use as second layer. Wind gets thru, but thats not why I bought. Can withstand SoCal winter. Have used it outdoors and sleeping. Has Sherpa-feel outside and generous pocket/hand warmer. Fabric stretches a bit so you can move around. Def a good purchase
Hi, Patagonia is a great brand and I have a lot of their Tops (12) and bottom (Baggies). I love them, but even with the new button design, the product, of which I bought 2, is very ratty looking and looks very old after just a few months!

The collar style was a dealbreaker
I was looking for a warm fleece quarter zip; something warmer than a Better Sweater (although I do like the look of those). The shearling was warm and comfortable and I enjoyed the kangaroo pocket. I ordered it online. Once I tried it on, I realized that the collar style was not attractive to me. The Synchilla ended up being a better choice.
I love this. It's the perfect size and the pockets are a great addition. It's soft and roomy, and goes with everything. I didn't realize it was navy on the trim until I got outside in the sunlight - the lighting inside the store isn't the greatest. Still, it's great.
Receive multi compliments on color and fit! Easy to get into and out of it. Super comfortable in recent Santa Barbara cold snap with snow. This was a gift from my daughter. Good taste, like her father!
I love the brand and I am a loyal customer but this jacket is not what I expected. It is mainly on the waist, that already is seems to be a bit stretch out. Also the chest is a weird fit.
Hello Fernando, thank you for the review. We're sorry to hear that this fleece has been a disappointment overall. You're welcome to send it back for a refund or merchandise credit. For other options in men's fleece, [click here](https://www.patagonia.com/shop/mens-fleece).

Warm and comfortable
I bought this for my teenage grandson and his first comment was he was going to wear it all the time! Great weight and fit (he is 6feet tall, narrow waist but broad shoulders). Medium is a perfect fit.
This fleece is relatively light weight compared to others I've tried but that was the point. Ironically, it actually weighs more because of the knit cuffs and bottom hem that add overall weight and do a good job holding warmth in (just as the specs say). It also has real pockets, which is great. In retrospect Id like to have had a zip closure ... Read Morerather than the buttons what are sorta clunky. (Id also appreciate a Comment box that would take appostrophes!) All in all, a good purchase.
Very comfortable very stylish button up. The material is a little thin but warm nonetheless. A little tight around the shoulders (I have broad shoulders). All around great coat with durable polyester.
This is a sweater that looks great for casual wear and is surprisingly warm. Texture is soft, easy to get on and off. It is so good I am very tempted to get another one in a different color.
I have a Patagonia fleece top in size medium which I bought 15-20 years ago that was comfortably warm but too snug. This is a replacement and I havent used it enough to make a decision about it yet.
While I liked the color of the brown and navy, the pockets really ruin the overall fit of the pullover. It would look so much more flattering and hang less awkwardly and baggy on you if the lower torso where the pockets are was instead a little snugger. I have a bit of a gut and even for me it was too wide on me and could've been longer too. Y... Very cozy and warm! I got one for my husband and another for my brother in law. Had to size up as it runs a bit short. A nice change from the typical quarter zip.
One of my favorite casual layers for around town, in the house, or under my ski jacket. Warm, soft, and cool retro style. Im 5 foot 9, 165-175 lbs (muscular build- 42 chest, 31 waist) and the size L fits perfectly. I was in search of something a little more elevated than the snap T but just as comfortable. Warm, roomy but looks good if you need to bust it out at the office. Pockets are classic hoody pockets so it weights down right in the middle, could be cool if next version has more of a jacket style pockets to balance out the weight.
Hi Jennifer, thank you for submitting this feedback, and for returning a pullover that wasn't going to make you happy. We're sorry it was disappointing! You might prefer one of our beefier fleeces, like the Retro Pile line. Please give us a call if we can help!

Gift
Gave as a gift. Fit well, he likes it. I will note that the brown color looks lighter in person.
The feel is comforting, especially nice for walking outside on a cool morning. Does a very good job at keeping the body warm and looks very nice as well, highly recommended!
Tried this on in the Boulder CO super store. I have a dozen or so fleece tops and such from Patagonia, and I'm typically perfect for their medium size (6'1", 170 pounds, 34" arms. Even the large felt a bit constrained in my shoulders, so this doesn't work for me. Only reason for the 4 stars is that it's fit seems very ... Read Moredifferent from what typically is very uniform sizing. Very disappointed since I love pullover fleeces with pockets and was so ready to buy this, but this still looked to be an outstanding garment!
The best fleece, the brown and navy combo is iconic and the quarter buttons is a classy look. Super warm and comfy. Buy true to size. I'm 5'11" 200lbs and the large fits perfect, hope this helps
Loved it when I tried it for the first time. Super warm and comes in attractive colors. You can wear them on a hike and dress it up for the office because of the buttoned collar.
Winter mountaineering and hiking are a thing of the past for me. but dealing with mild winter conditions outdoors and lower temp settings indoors give me pause so I decided to try the Shearling fleece pullover. I really love the sweater. Its pretty thin, so it easy to get under a ski jacket or pair of waders. Keeps you nice and warm. I love the 1/4 button up. All around love it
Instantly wanted this when I saw it. The colors are perfect - especially the wine and navy grosgrain ribbon accents - but even before I bought it, I was worried there might be a fit issue with the side pockets. Best designed, best made
I purchased my first pull over with through pocket/pouch 30+ years ago.
Marsupials and baggies are the best.
I own four different Patagonia fleece pull-overs, but this 1/4-button pull-over with the marsupial pocket (nice feature) looks to be my new go-to Fall and Winter garment. It already looks awesome with just a T-shirt underneath for both my collar-need work dress requirement and cool-looking casual wear - real easy to pull on and off - and is just th... This thing is so cozy, and very retro-stylish. Im 5 foot 9 and weigh around 170-180 pounds (muscular build) and the L fits perfectly. Just got it and have worn it casually for the last couple days, but excited to use this before morning surf sessions and for a snow layer.
Bought this for camping and hiking in Washington state. Wore under a rain jacket and kept me super warm. Was extra comfortably when sitting around the campfire later. Doesnt hurt that its stylish as all hell.
Pleased with the fit/drape. Fleece very different as all recycled. "Pouch" much more substantial than previous versions. Looking forward to wearing this garment frequently.
I bought this for my husband and hes not taken it off since Christmas. Its classy and fitted enough for him to wear to work with khakis and also wear with jeans/joggers.
The material is perfect, nice and soft great quality. Love the style. Perfect for wearing over other light weight shirt only because it's a little oversized. If getting again and wearing without other shirt underneath might size down. But its great as it is.
Awesome, nice fleece on the dressy kind so nice and cozy, also the folks at Patagonia online and in my local store in Mn are so nice.
Thank you Shawn E
Simply the nicest thick semi dressy and casual looking and feeling fleece out there, super warm.
the folks at Patagonia online help and my local store in Minnesota are the best.
Thank You Shawn E
Love this piece. I throw it on and wear it all day, in and out of doors. Made of a unique stretch material great for movements such as physical work and fly casting. Layers well under a shell, toasty warm and lightweight. Exchanged a large for a medium and it's a better fit.
I selected my size based on the picture of the models who were my height that were wearing size mediums. The waist of the sweater has a tendency to fit higher on the waist and feels short. However, fabric and material are fantastic.
Great item. gets lots of complements. I will mention everything on this website has fit me as a small but this one I had to get a medium. I am 6' 0" pretty slim if anyone else is similar I recommend a medium
Great piece. I can wear it out on the boat guiding or in the office. Always love the pile garments - warm in the wind with minimal layers underneath. Sholders are too broad for a medium to be comfortable so I usually have to size up for more room and it fits perfectly.
I'm 6'2" and purchased a size "Large" and it fits extremely well; not too small, not too large. It's also quite warm for this unseasonable snow here in Montana.
This fleece offers everything I wanted -- oatmeal color, attractive trim, large buttons, high neck coverage, warm, lightweight, and quality fabric. As important, I enjoy buying from an organization that walks their talk and places integrity and social values front & center, Well played!
I've had snap Tees for years and loved them. I thought this would be the similar but with an updated look. WRONG! Patagonia usually hits it out of the park. For me this was a strike out.
