The fit and the color were great . I should have probably gone with a S and the M was slightly loose , for reference I am 150lbs with broad shoulders.
Unfortunately I have super sensitive skin and the material was quite itchy . Will have to return
Hello Poojitha! Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We're really sorry to hear that you found the pullover to be itchy. If you have a sensitivity to wool then this might not be the best option. If you're interested in something similar without wool we'd recommend taking a look at our [Los Gatos Hooded Fleece Pullover](https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-los-gatos-hooded-fleece-pullover/25245.html?dwvar_25245_color=LTPG&cgid=womens-fleece).

Very Warm
Although the inside of the pullover is not really soft, it keeps you warm and fits really well! I would recommend wearing another shirt underneath to minimize discomfort.
Piece is well made, and very warm but so itchy. I have to wear a long sleeve shirt underneath to fully cover where this sweater will touch my skin and it occasionally irritates around the neck. I would love this garment if the lining were soft like the better sweater.
Hey Emily, thank you for the review. If this fleece is causing a reaction, you're definitely welcome to send it in for a warranty evaluation. To begin that process click [here](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html).

Lightweight but warm
Love this pullover. It is itchy as it has some wool in it so I would definitely recommend a long sleeve shirt underneath. As usual, love all my Patagonia gear!
Hello Azucena, thank you for the review. Sometimes people have this kind of reaction to wool, we're sure it's uncomfortable for you. If it's not working out, you're welcome to return it and try something different. Cozy Quarter Zip
This is a super cute and cozy quarter zip! Runs true to size (slightly bigger than smaller).
I love the color (light blue), the material is great, not too scratchy. I sized up from my usual Large to an XL because I knew I would layer it and didn't want it too tight. I love everything about it, except it doesn't have pockets.. so plan accordingly!
Perfect for temps in the low 70s and below. Looks great dressed up, very cozy dressed down. Slightly (very slightly!) scratchy as you would expect with wool, but I have worn it next to skin over nothing but a sports bra many days without complaint. Wish I had gotten this many seasons ago!
Hey Leah, we appreciate the feedback. If you decide that you want an even roomier fit, you're welcome to begin an exchange on [this page](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html).

Very warm
This may be my favorite Patagonia pullover I own. Its very warm, with a base layer underneath and is not bulky at all. It is easy to pack since it is not bulky and is very versatile. I only have one, but plan to purchase more when my size is available again in other colors.
I should have read the description of the pullover more carefully. It is made of wool as stated, so can be quite itchy. The pullover is cute and would be easy to wear with anything. Im 120 pounds and 5 foot 5. I wore an XS. I would have loved it if it wasn't so itchy!
This is a good jacket, but I wish I had read the description better before I bought it-- it has NO pockets. Seriously. Maybe that's not a problem for most women, but for me it is... Hi Jessica! Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We're sorry to hear that the pullover is causing some discomfort. Some people find wool to be itchier than others so this may not be the best pullover for you. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed so you're welcome to [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html).

Light, comfortable and warm
I purchased this pullover at the very last minute and took it with me during my trip in Switzerland in Sept. Light, comfortable and it kept me warm. You can also use this on layers. Perfect pullover, highly recommend this product.
Hey Olivia, thanks for the review. We're sorry it didn't work out! We recommend always checking the "Specs & Features" tab on the product page before purchasing so you have a better idea of what the product has to offer. The Woolyester didn't work out for you because it doesn't have pockets, but we do have the [Women's Retro Pile Fleece Marsupial](https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-retro-pile-fleece-marsupial-pullover/22835.html?dwvar_22835_color=STPE&cgid=womens-fleece) which does. Nice material
It is nice material, I just ordered the wrong size. I am usually a small in gear but I wish I would have got a medium in this.
I had the Navy version of this and skiied in it with just a shell and it was so warm but not bulky so I ordered another color. Sky Blue is a gorgeous color. Can't wait to hit the slopes in it this winter and wear into the fall. The look is a bit dressier too for work.
Sad that I had to return this adorable sweater fleece because although it was super cute and fit perfectly, it was extremely itchy and the quality was poor- you could see through parts of the knit where it was really thin.
We're truly sorry to hear about this issue with our Women's Woolyester Fleece Pullover. Please let us know if you have any questions regarding your return of this product and we will be happy to assist you. We also passed your thoughts along to our Design Team. Thank you so much for your feedback.

Very warm!
Fits true to size. Very warm and cozy! The fleece is a little rough/scratchy- not a deal breaker (I just wear a thin layer under it). Love the red/navy colorway!
I love this pullover! It's very comfortable. I purchased the red one. I like it so much that I ordered another one in gray and then got one for my friend in the light blue. I first got this sweater for a week long canoeing and camping trip to the Boundary Waters. I liked it so much that I bought another sweater and wear them both at home and when I teach.

I love Patagonia. I love the color of this pullover. But its so itchy even with a long sleeved shirt under it. The collar that touches my neck is itchy!
We're sorry that this pullover has been itchy for you, Jessica. For some folks, wool is a no-go no matter what, and that sounds like it's the case for you. If you want to try something similar minus the wool, we recommend the [Women's Los Gatos 1/4-Zip Fleece](https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-los-gatos-quarter-zip-fleece/25235.html?dwvar_25235_color=ELKH&cgid=root).

Keeps me warm
I like how it fits. Not too loose and not tight. Very comfortable and enjoyed wearing on cool mornings.
I love this pullovers color. It is gorgeous. But it started piling at the first day. When I washed it, it shed so much that others in the wash-machine had red piling on them. I really live it, but will have to return it.
Hey Asli, thank you for the review. We're sorry to hear of the excessive shedding. Since this is a wool piece, the care instructions might be a bit different than what you're used to which could have caused the pilling in the wash. You'll want to machine wash cold on gentle cycle with minimal extra items, preferably nothing with hardware that could agitate the knitted surface. If you followed the care instructions and still encountered this issue, you're welcome to send it in for a warranty evaluation. The fit is off. Most sweaters and jackets in this cut fit great but this one is loose in the wrong places and snug in the wrong places. Its just odd. Ill wear it every now and again but it wont be a favorite as I expected. Small fits me, medium would be too big, but again, oddly cut item. Im 5/7, 125-130
This pullover provides a ton of warmth for the weight and less bulky that other fleece pullovers. It fits really well and I get a lot of compliments. I like that it has wool so it is unique and not like other fleeces. It is warm without being too warm for active wear....I work on a cattle ranch and do a lot of walking.
I LOVE this pullover and am wearing it more than I expected. It goes with everything I have, it is easy to clean, and the color is amazing. It makes me feel warm and cozy. Great product! I wish I had an excuse to buy more of these!
Size fits perfectly and is so comfortably warm; wished I had this earlier in the winter. Followed washing instructions and it look as if just came out of package. Ready for next year!
Its a little itchier than I was expecting but I think it will mellow out after some wear and washes. I love the way it looks and feels and it is exactly what I was looking for. I much prefer these sleeve and bottom hems over the cord ones on the synchilla fleeces. Fits pretty much exactly as expected.
Patagonia has always provided so much warmth, at times, I feel too warm in their fleece. The Better Sweater is a perfect example of a super warm fleece. So I was disappointed to find so much cool air can breeze through this sweater.
Hey Christina, we appreciate the feedback. The Woolyester Fleece Pullover is not one of our windproof fleeces, and it is intended for casual use. If you were looking for something that is windproof, we recommend the [Women's Classic Retro-X Fleece Jacket](https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-classic-retro-x-fleece-jacket/23074.html?dwvar_23074_color=NEBG&cgid=web-specials-womens-fleece). There are filters on our website when you're looking for specific features in a product that can be very helpful. Go to the section of the website you're curious about, for example women's fleeces, and on the left hand side of the page you'll see filter options. Something like windproof capabilities would be under the features tab.

Red fleece pullover
Love it. Lightweight and warm. The red color is great and sorely needed to perk up the greyness of winter.
I do really like this sweater, however was disappointed to see pilling on the cuffs and waistband after about 4 months of occasional wear. It can also be a little itchy for anyone who is sensitive to wool.
I got this in M from Wornwear in lava and I can't wait to get the other colors. It is perfect over a button down with jeans and boots. I really liked the style, but found the material not as soft as I wanted so I sent it back and went with the trusty Los Gatos fleece - can't go wrong there :)
We appreciate your review, and we're glad you were able to return it. The recycled polyester and nylon fabric of the Woolyester would feel a bit rougher than the Los Gatos. The perfect alternative when you want a break from your synchilla snap
I packed it for a week-long vacation and wore it every single day. It's so cozy and can wear it casually or on a hike. Love it.
I wanted to love this. I loved the color and the fit. I appreciate the mission behind this recycled wool. But it was unbearably itchy for me even with a shirt underneath, I cant wear it.
This is the second woolyester top I have bought. I wore the first so much that when the price came down, I bought a second. The sleeves fit me, but I have short arms. One caution: it is a bit itchy. I have no trouble wearing a non itchy base layer.
Lured in by the recycled wool and classic Patagonia style. Totally delivers on being really warm and even a touch wind resistant from the nice tight weave of the wool. Will probably buy another.
I thought the fit felt true to size and didnt seem to have an awkward fit as some other reviews indicated. It was warm and provided all day comfort. Certainly durable and great quality. I received several compliments on this piece.
It could be perfect. Mediocre material: within one week, the elastic is fraying at the wrists, and it's beginning to pill. Really disappointing given the cost. It's great for being active outdoors in cool/coldish weather. Wish the zipper went all the way up to the neckline hem.
Hello there, thank you for your feed back and we are sorry to hear about the trouble with pilling. Warm and comfy
Sweater is warm and comfy. Since it is wool, it can feel a little less soft on bare skin, so adding a liner on the arms and adding pockets would make it perfect!
I ordered this a size up from my usual medium, as I wanted something baggier to throw on in the morning or evening when it is cooler. I personally like the woolyester material, but can see it being itchy for some. I love the look of it and the neckline. The only thing missing would be pockets!!!
This fleece is so light weight! I love that it isnt bulky but is super warm and comfy. Warm and classy. I layered it with a thin tshirt or turtleneck. I bought one in lava and oatmeal colors, which have been my fall/winter staples and perfect for Northeast weather. You can dress it up with leather boots or as casual attire with sneakers. Id buy it in every color if I could!

So cozy and stylish!
Love this pullover. While its lighter than I originally thought, its still very warm. Its the perfect weekend pullover for running errands in, under a jacket or vest for a fall or spring patio visit, or to wear on a chilly walk. Love the neckline too. Overall very happy with the fit!
I wanted a pullover that wasnt so boxy and bulky, this one is it. I love the oatmeal color with navy trim and definitely accentuates your waist if you size it correctly. It is true to size more like a sweater so if you want it for layering, youll need to go a size up or more. I wear it with nothing underneath or just a tank and its perfect.
I wear this sweater often. I have it in the rust color (my favorite) and navy. It's warm enough but not overwhelmingly hot. It does pill up after a year or so, as is common for polyester. I still love it. The only improvement would be a pocket. And less polyester.
I really wanted to like this sweater! It was cute, but the material was itchy on my skin (I didn't wear a shirt underneath). I could have looked past this, but then I noticed that there were no pockets. Overall, it's cute, but not very practical.

Read Moreositives: I was SO excited to get this fleece as a Christmas gift because I am trying hard to move away from essentially disposable fashion and my other Patagonia items have lasted and been well worth the investment. I was also pleased to get a recycled and fair trade piece of clothing. The navy color is nice and I don't find the fabric to be too itchy. It's warm and quite cozy with classic/retro style. My friends all agree that this is a cute "hippie fleece for you earth mother types." I think it would also be cute on anyone.
The negatives: I have washed the fleece twice (gentle cycle, cold water, no dryer) and the thing is already pilly all over and elastic threads are coming out of the cuffs. At first, I thought it was hair (I'm blonde and so is my son) but when I pulled on it, I realized it was stretchy and attached to the fleece. Upon closer inspection, I found multiple places where the elastic thread is coming out and another where just the cotton thread in the cuff is coming undone. Fortunately, Patagonia stands by their products and after one call they've sent me a return label and will refund my husband so I can order another one. While I knew there were no pockets when I requested this particular fleece, I did not realize how frequently my cold little hands would look for a place to rest. That alone might have been a deal breaker in retrospect.
I'm very sad because I love the idea of this fleece but would not recommend this particular fleece to a friend. I had a Synchilla one for nearly 10 years with no signs of wear and only got rid of it because I finally accepted that the mauve color I settled on because I was so desperate for a fleece was NOT a good life choice (talk about washout!). I still mourn the loss of that fleece and will probably order one of those to replace this one.
Please keep trying with the fair trade and recycled clothing, Patagonia. I'll keep giving them a try because I love this earth so much and so deeply value heritage-quality clothing. YOU CAN DO IT!
Just got this fleece. Not as heavyweight as I imagined, but seems like it will be warm. Like the material at cuffs. I think that it is unfortunate that the women's version has a zipper that does not go all the way up to the top. The men's version does. What gives? Material seems plenty soft to me. Will be interesting to see how it washes.... Read More
I love the fit of this fleece. It runs bigger than some of my other Patagonia fleeces/sweatshirts. I am tall so I like having the extra length. It is itchy though, so I have to wear long sleeves underneath.
The only reason I gave this 4/5 stars is that this pullover needs pockets... I am 5’2” and will also say it could be a smidge longer (but I still love it as-is). Wearing something itchy and “wooly” typically bothers me, and I don’t find this to be itchy at all. As a note I always wear with a cotton long sleeve shirt underneath. As some note the itc... Read Morehiness, I would add maybe expect that it still retains an element of “wool sweater” feeling, so if you generally avoid wearing wool, this may not be for you. If you do wear wool, you will find this to be a softer, cozier version of your favorite sweater.
I was so excited to purchase this. It is very soft. I went with a size small which is usually what I wear in previous Patagonia shirt purchases. My complaint with this is it is very short in lenght & I am 5'0. Will most likely return.
This is super cute and I get compliments on it every time I wear it. I haven’t washed it yet to speak on the fibers coming off, but it can itch if your skin is dry or if you only wear something light under it. It isn’t enough to stop me from wearing it though! It runs just slightly small, I’m 5’6”-5’7”
I bought the Navy and I love it! It is quite warm, yet breathes well. (Let's just say I'm in the hotflash phase of life, and this works for me.) I don't find it itchy, but rather soft on the inside. I am 5' 5" athletic build. The XS fits me well overall. I just wear it on its own, no shirt underneath. I also wear an XS top ... Read Morein Patagonia fleece, tops and better sweater. Would recommend.
this is extremely cute and i love the style and look, but it is extremely itchy. all of the reviews said it was soft, it is not. it is insanely itchy and irritating!
I love this sweater. It is extremely warm and soft and looks great with everything. I usually wear a size large in Patagonia because I have an ample chest (lol), sometimes even a size large can be slightly too big on me. I bought this in a large and it is pretty short. I have a short torso so this isn’t a problem for me but I can see how it could b... Read Moree for other people. Also since the length so are the arms, I have long arms and the large just barely fits in the arm length. It also sheds quite a bit when you wash it. I am afraid it will pick up fibers from others clothes so i have been washing it on it’s own, but I am going to get a special bag to wash it in so I’m not wasting water. Other than those small issues I love it! Patagonia products always go above and beyond and this is no different.
Love this new material but it is WAY too short. Please remember that those of us who purchase your products are pretty active and when bending, reaching ,stretching the pullover rides up and doesn't provide much coverage. Tried to wear it fly fishing and it "rode up" every time I casted
I am between a XS and S depending on the Patagonia jackets. This is a perfect fit in a S. XS was tiny. It is so soft. I got the navy. I love it. I tried the other New 1/4 zip cotton/ wool pullover which did not fit as well for me. This pullover is softer.
I love this pullover! I got the Oatmeal Heather color, and it goes with everything. It's very warm and soft. I was worried it would be a little itchy, but it is not! I have many Patagonia pullovers all in a Medium size, however I sized up to a Large in this. The medium was a little too short.
I wish I could give this more than five stars. Beautifully made, warm & cozy, with and understated pattern. I have received compliments every time I have worn this. I live in Montana where the weather can go from 70 F and sunny to snowing in a matter of minutes. This is toasty and will make for a great layering piece for the wintery months.
This pullover is everything I want it to be. True regular fit, sleeves just long enough and roomy, stretchy cuffs and soft, not-too-scratchy material. Still longing for pockets, but I will be wearing this a lot. Very warm.
