Really great coat definitely worth the money. Its light enough that you can move but still very warm. Absolutely love it. I am very happy with this purchase
I highly recommend this jacket to those who have trouble finding a versatile jacket! First I ordered a large one but it was quite big for my size (6,2 and 200) so I exchanged it for a medium one. it's super warm and you only need to wear a shirt for cold weather around 32 °F. The zipper works very well and it's super smooth. I suggest the... Read More blue (New Navy) color which is really elegant.
Medium fits too tight in the armpits, too tight in the arms and sleeve length is a little short. I had to return it. Beautiful coat just so tight in the arms. I wish the designers would open up the chest, arm hole and under arm areas to fix the tightness. If I wore a sweater, I could barely fit my arms in the sleeves. Had to return it.
I purchased... Read More the Large next hoping it would fit better, however it was too large in the body. The armpit and arms did fit a little better though. Hoping this can be fixed next season because I really like the coat, just had to return both this year.
We're sorry to hear this parka was disappointing in the fit and sizing. If you get a chance to visit our two [Patagonia-owned retail stores in your area](https://www.patagonia.com/store-locator/), they may be able to steer you toward a better-fitting coat, in addition to processing returns. Great Coat
I love it. Looks nice similar to a pea coat with the warmth of an actual coat. Wish I bought it sooner. Snow can get in to the pockets but perfect besides that
This is Patagonia's take on the winter coats from years ago. A heavy waterproof shell with a layer of insulation underneath traps body heat and keeps me warm.
The longer length and the hood are a must for wind, rain, and snow. I have stayed warm, and dry in sleet and blowing winds, and windy days in the 20's. No areas appear to have wet ... Read Morethrough after 30 minutes in rain, sleet. Water beads up and rolls off since its a new jacket.
The fit is medium which allows for adding layers as needed. I have a medium build and the jacket fit well in the shoulders and chest.
When snow shoeing the heavy shell wasn't ripped or abraded from tree branches and shrubs. The cut of the jacket did not feel restrictive with poles and a pack. Accessing my pants pockets was difficult because of the longer length of the jacket. I was able to move items to the zippered pockets on the jacket.
The only difficulty I had was fitting a full-length winter glove around or under the cuffs.
The fit was the most important part for my parents and me. I am very small for my age but like styles for teenagers. This is perfect for me in cold Minnesota winters!
Lots to like for the price point. I put kinda large, but I'm still happy with the size I got. Parka's are supposed to go lower down your legs compared to a hoodie/jacket and should also be a little loose for mid-layers that you might wear underneath. Inside of the jacket feels nice. Hood works and is adjustable. There are two reasons why I took off a star though. First is that all lint/hair sticks to the outside of the jacket, which is annoying because I have two dogs. If they had outside be more like their other jackets, then this thing would be perfect. Second reason is website says shell has DWR, but doesn't specify if it's PFC-free or not. That's really important to me and I wish it was more clear.
I wear this over a down sweater hoodie when snowboarding and have approximately 90 full days on mountain with the setup- it rocks. This parka has kept me comfortable during long stretches outside in frigid temperatures below 0 degrees F. With a down layer, it is good to even colder temps. This coat was a replacement for me for my Canada Goose Chateau parka that I have had for some time but I generally find too warm. Was looking for an all around camping, hiking, work and casual jacket. This didnt quite make the cut, although its quite the rugged jacket. H2no material is great. Its very warm despite the synthetic insulation. The medium ran a big small around the shoulders, and I am a lean build, so that size normally works for me with Patagonia. Would not be ab... I bought it to replace another long parka but didn't want it to be down insulated. Also, I wanted the new one to be navy blue: tired to wear black overcoat all the time. Besides, combined with beige chinos and a classic Oxford shirt is a "perfect office outfit".
The shell seems to be made of a cotton blend canvas, but it's engi... Read Moreneered nylon and water repellent. It's long but not excessively, which is good when commuting or on a brisk walk. Its breathability is relevant here. The two-side front zipper helps with that.
The main downsides of this nice garment are definitely the tight collar and the difficulty to zip it all the way without having to put the hood on. Also, I think it's a tad ample in the waist zone and narrow by the chest and shoulders. I'd say, its shape is like a bell.
Being that said, the pros exceed the cons, so I'd definitely recommend this parka for high Winter season. I'm going to Torres del Paine and will test it in Puerto Natales, while strolling, not during the hikings.
I'd rate it 4.5/5.0 but that is not possible, that's why the 4.
I was looking for a new winter coat that would work for NYC winters. The coat fits great for a stockier guy and the sleeves are not too long. I know this cost isnt made specifically for skiing but Id like to test that out next season.
Bought it at the Patagonia outlet. Great price. The only negative thing about it is when zipped up all the way, it is too tight around the neck. Not enough flexibility to pull the hood off your head with out unzipping
At first I wasn't sure, a non-removeable hood, and was a little stiff. But the longer I wear it the more I love it. What's not to like it's waterproof + I no longer feel the cold. It's also very stylish especially when using the zipper.
The parka is great but it does run a bit large and with many shortages going I dislike having to order/return. Returned. Quality seem like it will withstand a lot. The fit is not as slim as it looks on pictures.
Such a good winter coat and super warm and really stylish. The hand pockets are especially great. I wear a Large in the Nano Puff Jacket/rain jacket, and this seems to run slightly larger than those, but overall, great coat.

The product is great for New England weather! It is very warm and it provides enough length. The jacket also breathes well and it is not very heavy. The only issue that I ran into is the zipper stitching on both pockets is broken and needs a repair.

Looks good and feels warm
Overall very good. Im 511 180lbs and it feels a bit tight around the neck when wearing a fleece. The hood also tends to fall on the head especially when in the car. I like the way it fits but I wonder how a large would have felt.
Thank you for the review on our Lone Mountain Parka. It's not too late to exchange it out if you think a size up would help! Feel free to start an exchange [here](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html).

good value
Very nice, warm, dry but an inside waist/sinch belt would be a welcomed addition for decreasing wind/cold air coming up from below.
Overall I am happy with this jacket. Very warm and down doesnt poke out or poke me. I usually wear a medium but I read it runs long so I bought a small and it fits perfectly. Bought this jacket to wear while walking in NYC in the winter. When zipped it keeps you completely warm and dry. I have a thin frame so id say it is pretty roomy in the midsection, but end of the day it is an amazing jacket for walking commute during this time of year. Pockets are massive as well.
I was thinking to buy City Storm Parka, however; I didnt like pockets and I dont prefer down insulation. I found this model and like the style. Overall quality of this is great. The fit is a little tighter around the neck for me than I'd like, but I'll get used to it. Slightly awkward to bend down for me because of the cut, but I've also never worn a parka before.
It is super warm and comfortable with a nice fit.
I am 6' in height and 41 at chest. I ordered an M initially, but it was quite large for me. Hence, I ordered an S which fits perfectly.
At 57 and 180 lbs Im fairly thick top to toe. The large size fits perfectly and is long enough to reach my thighs. I have had this coat for about a month and have loved it. The jacket flares out substantially at the waist and can’t be cinched, letting cold air in. It’s not a flattering look. I’m returning it for something more fitted.
I was skeptical about this parka based on some of the negative reviews. I'm so glad that I purchased it! I see what others are saying about the hood, but it doesn't bother me at all. This is a good coat overall and has kept me comfortably warm in upper 30's weather. I agree with other reviewers that the cut is a bit odd and I wish it was a little more form fitting, but overall definitely worth the price.
Lone Mountain Parka: Super warm, light and very water repellant
The parka came just in time for the temps in Memphis to drop to 28 under a light rain. Like most Patagonia products, this parka is made of high-quality materials and constructed to last. The exterior feels extremely durable to the touch and the interior down feels like Patagonia’s down sweater/hoody products. It slides on and off over layers very easily. With regard to warmth, I have worn this jacket over just a dress shirt on 20-30 degree mornings and have been comfortable. I recommend adding another layer or two if you experience temps much colder that range.
Overall, this parka is an excellent option for winter wear. Especially considering the price point.
Love the fit & cut. I initially bought a Large but I returned it and downsized to a Medium. At 6'3, wearing medium is a rarity so it felt weird to downsize but this medium parka fits my tall torso and has long sleeves that are just perfect for me.
I'm a big Patagonia fan but this jacket is a huge disappointment. I am 5'9, 150lbs, and I bought size small. The feel around the body is great but i'm extremely disappointed with the collar and hood. Great coat...nice weight, seems warm, not too heavy. BUT, the cut and fit is very strange. Not sure why all Patagonia coats can’t be cut to the same size?? I am returning it.
This thing is great - super warm and big without being bulky and massive. The sleeves on the Large fit me well (which is usually a problem with coats - I wear a 16/36 in dress shirts, I'm 6'2", 200lbs). This jacket looks beautiful (blue color is awesome.) However as the previous reviewer mentioned, there is no way to cinch this jacket at the bottom.
