It is a shell so be prepared to layer under it. No pockets in normal jacket spot which is irritating. Kept me dry. Not sure why it is so much expensive than other gear.
Perfect Outer layer! Room for a nice heavy middle layer, but not too bulky if its warm enough to skip a layer. Also love the color. Im shorter and Patagonia has made their cut to fit my torso better. Thank you Patagonia
The jacket fits well! The hood has side & back adjustments. The jacket breathes very well. I wish it was a couple ounces lighter but its a great jacket anyway!
The zipper did not work well. I got a down jacket for a brother who loved the jacket - but we returned it because the zipper did not work well. The Zipper on my current Patagonia windbreaker gets caught in the cloth. It also is substandard. You need to improve your zippers.
We're sorry to hear about the disappointing zipper function on our Stormstride Jacket. The waterproof nature of this jacket requires a [technical and waterproof zipper](https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Patagonia_Zipper) as well. We offer free repairs, or we're happy to help with a return under our Ironclad Guarantee. Please don't hesitate to reach out!

Great Backcountry-specific Shell
Waterproof, packable, and a great piece in a layering system. Everything I could want in a backcountry-specific jacket! Vents keep it cool on the ups and sealed on the downs.
I bought my normal size (M) and can comfortably fit an R1 and baselayers underneath, while still throwing a puffy (also M) over top for transitions.
Not warm, not sure how this can be called a ski jacket
I always layer up in the winter but Im not sure I can really use this jacket much in the winter. Its really thin and I havent felt like its done much for me when Ive worn it on windy days (in the 40s) running outside in NYC even with layers. Overall I loved the Patagonia jacket I bought for skiing in 2009 but its obviously falling apart now. So I t... Read Morehought this would be a good replacement. Not even close.
Hello Caroline, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry the jacket did not meet your expectations as it is designed as a shell to be paired with appropriate insulation layers, depending on the user's preference. If you prefer an insulated ski jacket, the W's Insulated Powder Bowl Jacket or the W's 3-in-1 Snowbelle Jacket may be better options.
We value your satisfaction and welcome you to [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html) it under our warranty.
