I have a pair of Patagonia pants I have used for the past 6 years. I probably have over 300 days of hard skiing on them. They have held up great but are finally getting worn out so I decided to replace them with the Storm Shift. I have a 31" waist and my current Patagonia pant is a medium so that's what I initially ordered. I pulled the s... Read Moreide tabs in as far as I could but the pants were still too loose and wouldn't stay up. So I returned the medium and got a small. The small was way too tight even with the side tabs all the way out. There's a serious sizing problem if I don't fit in one of these sizes. If your waist is 28"-30" the small will work for you. Don't get the medium unless your waist is 33"-35". If you're in the 31"-32" zone, find another pant.
Not overloaded with insulation and pairs nicely with long underwear. A little to wide around the waist but the built in Velcro adjustments (not just for kids any more!) worked darn well
This an excellent ski shell pant. I have skied in a variety of conditions from extremely wet to frigid. These pants will keep you dry and warm with the proper layering. In mild temperatures, 20 degrees and up, a base layer is not necessary as the pants are warm enough. Plus, there is venting if you get too warm. In frigid conditions, 20 to below 0,... Read More the addition of an appropriate base layer makes the pant more than comfortable. I like the regular fit because the additional room allows me to go to a heavier base layer depending on conditions.
Great pants and well built.
I strayed from the fold for a bit tried some other brands caught the bib fanboy wave and none of it works like this. Bomber Patagonia pants fit amazing and you can dial them in. Tough as nails but still light enough for tours. Stretchy fabric would be a nice touch but with the fit not necessary.
Bought this pair of pants for skiing and they have not disappointed. Fit is true to size and comfortable. All Patagonia gear is expensive but I'm happy with the purchase and of course the life time guarantee!
I'm 6'-4, 180bs, and these are extremely baggy. If you prefer the park/freestyle look maybe you'll like them but I prefer a snugger snowpant and these were way too baggy.
Haven't skied on these yet, and may return. Medium was snug for layering. Large is kinda baggy. With bit more waist adjustment the medium would have been perfect. I like a trimmer fit, and don't care for the baggy look.
Dear Patagonia, I love the the design. Ive been using your clothing equipment for many many years. From surfing, fly fishing, skiing etc. Ive tried to find the right ski pants for weeks now. Im not a snow boarder and dont like extra wasted material. Cant stand baggy! Please let me come help your team design the perfect affordable pants for all arou... Read Morend mountain performance and lifestyle. Im really bummed i have to send back these pants and continue my search for the right fit with the basic features most skiers are looking for.

Storm shift pant
Nice gore-Tex pant. Good quality. I like the pockets and belt loops.I have used them 10 days so far this season . 34 waist I am wearing L, I like a relaxed fit.
Ordered a medium and a large. Medium was super tight and the large was way too big. Loved the material, weight, features, etc. but sizing did not work for me.
In contrast to a couple other reviewers who said they needed to size up, I am returning my size Large because these pants are too loose and baggy on my 34" waist. (6'0", 178lbs) I like the material and features, just wish they were a bit snugger.

Nice Fit
Really like these ski pants. I am 6'0" and it has always been difficult to find pants that are long enough. These fit perfectly! Was a bit concerned since they are not insulated, but gives me the flexibility to layer efficiently.
Runs small in waist and backside...
I am a 34" inch waist so I bought a medium. The sizing guide is not super helpful. It states a medium is 33, and large is 36. What about the sizes in between those? Having a range listed would be better.
Hi Mac, thank you for sharing your experience with these Ski/Snowboard Pants. We're sorry the Medium didn't work for you, and glad to see you got set up with a size that will work better for you. We will pass along your feedback about the sizing information.

Just what I wanted
Perfect for resort skiing. Goretex keeps out the wind and the wet. Elastic/velcro waist adjustment plus belt loops make the waist fit easy. My phone needs to stay warm and dry, which it does in the handwarmer pockets. The Regular length and snow cuffs provide excellent compatibility with alpine ski boots.
Haven't spent any days on the hill yet. Had to go up a size from usual in these pants. Usually wear a L in Patagonia pants but had to go to XL to get them to fit. The L fit well everywhere except the waist. The Xl fits the waist but is a bit baggy on me through everything else. They seem like great pants and they're Gore-Tex so I know how...
