Nice weight for cool evenings and Fall days. Wash and hang to dry, comes out wrinkle free. Looks sharp, just the right colors...comfortable fit without binding or feeling too tight.
The button hole is a bit tight which is generally ok but the button edges are sharp, making them painful to push on when forcing them through the button holes. Please use a slightly thicker button or back off or button hole spec.
So to be honest, I checked two boxes for this shirt - the first being "casual wear" and the second being "work". When I think of work, I think of doing my long list of handyman stuff that I do around the house and the occasional woodworking. It's going to be a great shirt for that but not just yet. At this point I'm ju... Read Morest going to wear it for everyday wear. It's that good. I'm hard on my clothes and I can honestly say that the Patagonia brand is the only brand that can hang in there with me.
This shirt is good for the everyday wear and some casual work settings. Can be tucked in or left out. Plenty of "flex room through the shoulders, so you wont be bound up while doing physical work. Its just big enough that the heaver weight, under shirts can be worn comfortably also.
Excellent Casual Shirt, Runs Large for Slim Person
Great shirt made of hemp/polyester. I am 6' 1", weigh 153 pounds with slim build. I ordered a Medium and the sleeves were just slightly too long (which I prefer) but the trunk fit was far too large. I exchanged it for a Small. The sleeves were just long enough, covering all of my wrist down to the base of the thumb joint. It fit the trunk... Read More area slightly loose, great for comfort and appearance. I really like the shirt and expect it will last many years like all of my Patagonia products.
I think I’m going to be wearing this shirt all fall. It’s the right weight and the pattern is perfect. I will say it runs a bit big so if you’re between a medium and a large like I am, get the medium and expect it to be a little roomy. That being said, I plan to purchase another one.
The farrier shirts are the best product out there. They are extremely comfortable and perfect to throw over t shirts. I wear these almost every day to work. I hope they make more colors in the future (maybe a rust red or grey color). If you're contemplating getting these shirts, absolutely get them!!
Hi Phil, we're very sorry to hear that the fit of the Light Farriers Shirt didn't meet your expectations. Please feel free to begin a [return or exchange](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html) at your earliest convenience.

Perfect size
I am 6'3", 175lbs. I am lean with broad shoulders, a long torso, and long arms. This shirt is one of the best fitting shirts I've ever had. I love the long straight cut waist, and not constantly tucking my shirt back in any time I move. The chest pencil pockets are inspired. The material is durable yet soft, I can tell it will last f... Read Moreor many years of regular use, like most Patagonia gear. I love this shirt so much, I bought 2 more. I wear them all the time, and couldn't be happier.
Great top, I could wear it to the office or for a weekend camp out. It does fit big, though. My small fits how I would expect a medium. I will size down to XS for my next one.
Hey Kenny, thank you for the review. This shirt has a relaxed fit, so we could see why it would fit a tad bit larger than expected. You can check the fit on any item by going to the product page and checking underneath the color options. So Comfy
I have one of these in the women's cut and the heavier weight, I love it but it's cut a bit tight. The men's cut is roomier and the light weight is a nice change.
5 stars.. i like it better then the farrier shirt actually since I just wear these casually. It doesnt have the Patagonia logo across the chest either and thats a plus for me. Work doesn't really like big branded logos.
I am a big fan of hemp fabric blended into apparel due to the properties of it but also being one of the best sustainable sources available for clothing. I also like the weight of this shirt as it can be used four seasons. The shirt is nice looking overall. However, the shirt seems quite long in length, but yet the arms and shoulders are appropriat... Read Moree sizing for my build. Not a huge deal breaker but sort of a bummer as it looks a little baggy if not tucked in.
Very nice lightweight shirt, fits good, justvthe color i chose seemed a bit off to me. Not really a tan but more orange-ish. If they had better colors i would buy another one.
First time shopping with Patagonia for my husband. He was insistent that that he wanted organic material in his shirts.
He loved this shirt. And the fit was perfect on him.
Good texture and warmth, well made. Nice colors. Some reviewers say these shirts run large but he didn't find it too big. Roomy, comfortable. Nice size pockets. Great packaging too, paper.
I bought a men's light farrier's shirt in size large and it was very large on me, so I exchanged it for a medium and that fit better. The size large is like an extra large. Then after wearing it a few times and washing it once and drying by air, I noticed that the material was piling and left bare spots that were lighter in color than the... Read More blue fabric. Patagonia kindly sent me a replacement in a different color. I looked carefully at it as soon as I opened the package and that, too, was already piling. My impression is that the material on the light farrier's shirt is defective. Patagonia gave me a refund for that shirt and now I am waiting for the regular farrier's shirt to be available in my size and I will try that one. Hopefully, the material is better.
Patagonia has been very good about exchanges and returns.
Hello Michael, thank you so much for leaving this review and we are very sorry about the pilling issues you've encountered. To prevent pilling, we recommend washing that item either by hand in cool to cold water, or separately in your washing machine on the gentle cycle. It's best to lay it flat to dry rather than place it in the dryer where the fabric can easily get abraded. Additionally, to remove pilling that has already occurred, a sweater shaver or sweater stone is an excellent tool and can help the garment look brand new again. We hope this helps with any further issues with future products!

Rugged
My skin is sensitive to the sun and I always have to,wear a T-shirt and a long-sleeved shirt. This shirt is light, flexible, and durable, allowing me to work from lumberjacking to lawn/yard maintenance without a worry about protection.
I didn't know what size to get because it's a man's shirt and I'm a woman. So I called Patagonia and a very friendly, and happy young man helped me figure it out. He even got the measurement for the length. I wanted the shirt to be loose and comfortable. I was not prepared for how soft it feels on my skin. It's so well made... Read More and high quality that I know it will last a long time. I already washed it and it came out beautifully. I'm going to buy one in the other colors.
This shirt is pretty special. The material is really soft and breathable, but it still feels tough. Might be a little heavy for your hottest days, but will work for most and probably cross over nicely into fall and winter with some layering.
This is one of those perfect shirts! Yes,you could shoe a horse in it. BUT YOU COULD ALSO catch a fish, ride a bike or any number of other fun activities in it. And then go out to dinner without changing and look terrific. The 2 button flap pockets make it especially qualified to be a PERFECT shirt. CHEERS,PATAGONIA!
I was looking for a summer-weight version of the original Ferrier's shirt (which is also wonderful) and this is precisely what I got here. I was worried about the polyester in the fabric, but the shirt seems to breathe just fine.
The pockets are probably my favorite part of these shirts, but they have proven extremely durable, breathable, and... Read More comfortable. I wear this shirt for everything.
Its a great shirt. I have 2 of the regular farrier shirt and use them as a second shirt in a cool morning very resistant and quite perfect. But over all I love the shirt the size of pocket.
I like this shirt and the regular heavier weight Farriers Shirts for their design and hemp blend fabric. The fit is just right for me although Im not wild about the square cut hem. Im a shirt tucker and the hem is long enough to do that. I dont think square cut hems look good on anyone. Just look at the models on the website. Otherwise, the light F... I dont know why Patagonia makes the forearms tight. I have the regular farriers shirts and love them. This shirt is not the same, the forearm feel tighter.

Possibly my new favorite Patagonia shirt
I have a deep quiver of Patagonia casual shirts, with Pima Cottons and Fjords long time go-to favorites that are in constant rotation, but I must say this one is already an instant favorite. I find myself looking forward to pulling it on, if not seeking a reason to. Outstanding quality (of course). Here's what I love: everything! The metal but... Read Moretons. Long torso length. Great styling. Comfortable relaxed fit with rear yoke. Hidden pencil sleeves. Superb tailoring. Wonderful solid light blue color. And it's very comfortable and soft! 6 stars. Home run. Do I need another one?
Great fit. Great look. Great function. Very, very soft. Wear it for field work (search warrants and sampling) and office in this hybrid world. Amazing shirt!!!
