I purchased this hoodie (& matching t-shirt) for hiking on the Inca Trail. I was advised to dress in layers. Nice material, could use some tweaking
I love how the Capilene Cool Daily material feels, and how it blocks the sun and wicks away sweat. I wish every garment was made of this fabric. To be fair, I have broad shoulders and thicker arms. I probably should've gotten a medium but I prefer compression-style baselayers and I knew this was loose-fitting as well as a bit stretchy. I tried the men's version of this top also, the small feels great to wear as a light layer though it's fairly loose-fitting on me. Patagonia, please consider using flat-locked seams and a more "athletic" fit for your active wear!
Does what it says!
I love these shirts. It almost feels like you aren't wearing any clothes, and the sun protection is great. A Medium fits me nicely but loosely for proper air flow and cooling. I don't think the allegedly antibacterial stink protection works that well, but I might just be extra smelly... Not a dealbreaker by any means!
Light, great coverage, doesn't snag!
I've had the capilene daily cool hoody for a year now so I wanted to share my review after using it in different conditions - glacier mountaineering, backpacking, hiking, scrambling and sport climbing outside. Since this hoody 'replaced' the sunshade hoody, thought that the design would be factored in, alas although the fit is true to size, material very soft and easy wearing, its the lack of hood and no elastic to hold it on that disappoints a bit. no thumb loops also cause shirt to come up arms when reaching out or stretching. Again, it fits well and is comfortable, just not suiting current needs, cheers
Perfect minus one feature
With thumb holes or slightly longer sleeves, this would be the perfect sun hoodie of all sun hoodies. It is cool, comfortable, durable, and the hood stays on in wind, but it does not protect the backs of my hands, so sadly I wont buy a second one. Maybe a future model with thumb loops though!

I love everything about this hoody (the texture, the cut, the sun protection) except the colors and designs. I would buy 10 of these if only they were sold in colors I could live with. Perfect, with a little advice
First of all, let me say that I love these shirts and have purchased four in different colors. They are silky smooth and a dream to wear. I don't actually need the hood.
