Keeping Things in Perspective
Selling clothing isn’t an essential service. We all know this. More than anything, we are humbled by and extremely grateful for the health care professionals, public servants, farmers, grocery store workers, delivery folks and many others who are working their hardest right now. Thank you.
Retail Stores, Repairs and Dealers
We’re excited to get back to work, but our values haven’t changed. As always, we encourage you to buy only what you need, buy local when possible and repair what you already own. Our retail stores and repair services remain closed for now, but we have DIY repair guides available online and Patagonia dealers in your area.
Responsibly Sourced, Shelf-Stable, Nutritious Food
Our food business is also open with an expanded marketplace of products from like-minded farmers, ranchers, fishers, artisans and brands. We invite you to visit Patagonia Provisions and get responsibly sourced, shelf-stable, nutritious foods delivered right to your door.
We appreciate the words of encouragement and support you’ve shared with us. Stay safe, be kind to one another and thanks for stopping by.Shipping and Safety Details
The shirts (I bought 2 long sleeve and one t-shirt) are so light and breathable they are perfect for biking and hiking in hot, humid weather . The long sleeve shirts provide sun protection. The fit is relaxed, not tight and not too loose with good coverage in the length. I am very pleased with this purchase.
My new favorite running shirt
I've reached for this shirt again and again this summer. It's my favorite thing to put on over a tank early in the morning, but light and comfortable enough to run in on a warm, sunny afternoon. Feels like wearing nothing, but keeps the sun off of my arms/shoulders. Love!
Perfect Shirt for Warm Beach Walks
Love this shirt. It is lightweight and a great shirt for my beach walks, feeling the ocean breezes while protecting my skin. I have tried many brands but this is the best for San Diego - I own five shirts in different colors. This one I bought for my cousin recovering from cancer.
Super lightweight for summer
I really like these shirts. They are so light it makes them cool. I like long sleeves for sun protection but you can pull them up if its really sweltering. The only negative is that the fabric gets pulls or pills in it very easily. So you have to be careful not to touch Velcro or rub into branches or evergreen trees.
My go-to top
Love my Capeline Cool LS, great for sunny or coolerish weather (SoCal style). After decades of too much UV, I cover up but can't stand to be too hot. Bought 4 in colors -- but each Medium was sized very differently: Bright blue was the loosest & sleeves cover my hands (which I love); Aqua fit perfectly; Gray is smaller, more fitted; gray b... Great shirt to keep the sun off your skin! Arm lengths run a bit short though. Im typically a size small for all Patagonia shirt/jacket fits and this shirt had at least a inch or two shorter in sleeve length in comparison to other long sleeve Patagonia shirts I have I.e. R1 hoodie or their mid weight long sleeve shirts
Versatile Summer Layer
Since I already invested in the Cap Cool Lightweight Tank and Tee, I figured I might as well also purchase the long sleeve shirt - especially after burning my back and shoulders while working on the farm. I have never owned a warm-weather active long sleeve piece -- and I am sure glad I made the investment now. Like the other garments in this line,... Read More this shirt is weightless, breathable, and quick drying. Great for when needing to be out in the sun and wanting coverage without feeling weighed down by a layer. Bought in the light purple. Also not bad looking as a casual piece when running around town. Will definitely be stashed in my pack for hikes and camping and mountain adventures. Weighs next to nothing and rolls up super small - takes up very little space!
Light as a feather!
Love these tops. I have 3 now. One previously is purple shade. Two newest ones are the Joya blue and pineapple. Later is true yellow but more neon, not necessarily flattering for my Caucasian skin. Keeping all of them. They keep me cool and airy while at work. Also love the neckline on these as it is a little more scoop rather than crew. More color... Read Mores please Patagonia
Great lightweight layer
I loved my original Patagonia lightweight base layers so much that I was hesitant to replace what I had. They are over 15 years old! I won’t give them up, but am very pleased with the fit and feel of the current version. Besides wearing as typical base layer for outdoor activities, I wear this layer under short sleeved T-shirt’s during the colder m... Extremely light and breathable
I am so glad I purchased these in the tank, short and long sleeves! It's been perfect for Cali's heat wave. I've used it a dozen times hiking, climbing, running and walking the dog. If you need to have ultra light weight clothing that's breathable this is it! It is longish but I perfer the longer lenght for climbing. I hope next... Great shirt but....
This is my 3 purchase of this type of shirt I like and wear them often. However, Wish it was like previously model with raglan sleeves. Also wish Patagonia carried petite sizes as I always have to get my shirts shortened which adds another $10 to the already high price..Never available in local store.
The best shirt for hiking in summer weather
This is my second Capilene Cool Lightweight shirt that I have purchased from Patagonia. Being on the mountain exposed to full sun, you need to be protected from the elements. Being that it is summer in Southern California, it is still very warm on the hikes and these light weight long sleeves are perfect for keeping you cool but protected.
THE best long sleeve for running
I love wearing long sleeves even on hot days because I can mop up sweat on my face while I'm running and keep sunscreen out of my eyes (maybe this is weird?). This shirt is my favorite to wear with my nine trails shorts and it feels like I'm wearing nothing. I couldn't help worrying that it would be discontinued or "improved&quo... I really like the light-weight feel to this shirt. I am 5’4” and wear an XS. The sleeve-length is shorter but doesn’t bother me. I like that the shirt feels like you aren’t wearing anything, so lightweight, and the sleeves are designed to not be noticed. It’s a win in my book. I’ve taken it backpacking and worn it around town. sleeves are bracelet length and the current colors seem dull
I have bought this shirt 3 times when there were brighter colors available. And I have loved them for the weight of the fabric and sun protection. But the sleeves are about 4 inches too short. Wait! Didn't anyone notice this? And when I called customer service recently to see if this has been corrected, I was told that this year's design ... Read Morehas even shorter sleeves. Hey design team: Please lengthen the sleeves 4 inches and bring back some cool colors!

Cool and lightweight!
I bought these LS shirts to protect me from the Hawaii summer sun while cycling to and from work - a better alternative to smelling like sunscreen all day. I love how cool the material feels on my skin. I bought 3 LS and 2 SS. Wear them hiking, running/walking, and cycling. No regrets. Personally, I feel they could be a bit longer but that's j... soft & comfy!
LOVE this shirt! I'm 5'5" and size S fits great. Got one in teal and another in smolder blue, and the colors are pretty without being too strong. Not for tall women or long arms
The main reason for my review is that the sleeves aren't long enough if you're tall and/or have long arms. Consider trying a men's size to compare the two. I wish the tail had a bit more of a drop but it was as expected if you compare it to the website picture. As far as fit, I expected the fit to be a bit slouchier as in the pictur... Read Moree. If you want something you can throw over a shirt, sizing up might help. If you just plan to wear it along, get your normal size. I got Light Violet and it shows sweat/moisture really easily. If you do not like this, get a dark color. I have only used this on a 60F windy run, but I got it for hot summer conditions to protect my skin against the sun so I am not sure how it will perform for that purpose yet.
