Alaska Needs You

I used this on a trip to Ireland. I routinely carried a SLR camera (Sony A6000), a rain jacket, one water bottle, a battery and charging cord, and a spare battery for the camera. The small side pockets could have held more - such as keys or a phone
Been riding with this over the last handful of months and it's probably the best lightweight/feature rich pack I've used. I carry an array of necessities and this pack stores everything perfectly, and conforms to my waist really well. Hip pockets + storage behind, 2 water bottle sleeves, 2 stealth external straps, a main storage with comp... Read Moreartments and a outter spot for snacks or a phone... it really checks all the boxes. Also taken a couple nasty wrecks where I've landed on my side and it still looks new and functions perfectly. Can't recommend this pack more highly. If there were something I'd say would make it better is maybe an extra bit of material where it meets the body for extra stability when fully loaded. Other than that, thank you for the great, well thought out product Patagonia.
Perfect size for short or long rides. The two bottle holders securely hold two extra bottles of needed. The pack is soft and fits really comfortably, even on rough terrain. It's also very multipurpose - I've used it to pull a pulk while Backcountry skiing, on hikes, and for mountain biking. There is a smaller outer pocket for keys etc, an... We really appreciate the detailed and thoughtful feedback on this product. Thanks for taking the time to send us a thorough review, Johanna!

Barely noticeable
I mainly use this hip pack for mountain biking over varied terrain, and I rarely notice I'm wearing it. The mesh venting material allows heat to escape/air to move through so I'm not getting too hot or sweaty under the pack, and it fits everything I need for rides of any length. I mainly use the bottle storage on my bike, but have carried... Read More extra bottles to swap out, and the cinch cords keep even a full bottle secure and close to the body so it isn't bouncing around (or out). Between my pump, multi tool, phone (iPhone 13 Pro, for reference), tubeless repair kit, miscellaneous tools, and some snacks, there's still plenty of room, and that's not even taking into account the external straps to carry knee pads or a rain jacket. Easy to loosen and twist it around to the front to grab something quickly, and the pull strap makes it easy to tighten the waist back up afterwards. Great for light hikes, as well, since it's much easier to navigate the bottle storage without stopping while walking vs riding a bike. Quality seems top notch. I'd definitely buy it again.
I wanted a new pack because the straps on my current one always loosen up during the downhill and I'm tired of having to re-adjust and re-tighten them every few minutes.
The straps on this pack stay in place and there is plenty of space for my essentials on a ride.
I got this pack as a bigger option to my smaller hip pack and it hasn't disappointed. Despite the larger size, this pack immediately disappears once you get going. The thicker band and material around all contact points make this pack super comfortable . The multiple organization options are great, especially the slots in the back of the main ... Read Morecompartment which hold my phone very securely; so securely in fact that it stayed put through a ride where I forgot to zip it shut! I havent worn on a hike yet but imagine it would be a great option for storage as well. Would highly recommend.
Bought this to free up my hands and pockets while running mountain bike expo events and when walking my dog. A+ quality, fit, and multiple storage options including water bottles.
Okay. This is the waist pack I've been dreaming of for biking. I have until now been using a regular trail waist pack with similar capacity; adequate but just not designed for 2 wheeled locomotion -- roomy but floppy and occasionally unwieldy, lacking in distributive organization. This is a perfect waist pack for any biker, but especially over... Read More rough terrain. Close fit keeps it from flopping; external pockets beautifully distribute the load (snacks, wallet, keys & more); plenty of room for my small (this is important) mobile phone; Internal space a dream for spare tubes, flat repair, basic multi-tool. And internal pockets good for note paper & pen. Like it so much, I'll slip it out for a hike, too, but it's ace perfect for that bouncing bike!
Carriers all my bike tools, windbreaker, snack, electrolytes plus 2 water bottles. Compact, good quality. Nice surprise. Only suggestion is use velcro so loose end of strap doesn't hang down... like most other packs though...
Pack too long to sit where it should, Not a good fit for some bodies
I have curvy hips and a round rump (and a million squats have only made it rounder). I was excited about this pack because of all the pockets and organization. But the length of the pack is too tall to sit flat against me because it sits on the curve between my back and rump. The curve of my rump pushes it upward when I move, and it rides up closer... Read More to my mid-back with the belt creeping up toward my bust. If a bit of length was cut off the bottom, it may sit and stay where it's supposed to. Otherwise, it's really well-made.
Hi Nicki, we're sorry this bag proved too long for your torso and shape! Thank you for returning something that wasn't going to work for you. Please let us know if we can be of any further help!

Nice bag
Nice size and really light weight. Great to throw in the suitcase when traveling.
While this fanny/waist pack wasn't designed for my intended use (casual/hiking/walking/running) it works great for non-biking uses. I was looking for a waist pack from Patagonia that could hold a water bottle, phone, keys, snacks and have an option to hold a coat or vest. This waist pack seemed like the best match of what Patagonia had availab... Read Morele on their website and so far has worked well for my intended uses.
The stowable carry straps work great on holding clothing that I take off while moving and the water bottle holders easily hold bike style water bottles. I can put my iPhone 11 pro in either of the zippered side pockets but it is pretty tight (wish they were slightly larger), so I usually just use the main back pocket.
This is a great fanny/waist pack with Patagonia's usual high quality of workmanship, so I'd recommend this product.
Always trying to find the right pack for riding, gave this one a try and so far its the bomb. Perfect size for what I want to carry, snacks, tools, extra bottle(s) if needed and a LW shell. Waist strap is very comfortable, and secure without being constricted.

I have been searching for the perfect hip pack for mountain biking and have found it in the Dirt Roamer 3L. The pack is low profile, so no bouncing or gettin caught on the seat. The water bottles are very secure, although it would present a challenge to holster a bottle on rough terrain. A large smart phone and keys fit in the outside pocket, and t... Read Morehe main pocket has adequate room for a light jacket and gloves, or a tube, sealant, and small tool set. The hip pockets are slim, but accomidate snacks and a lip balm with ease.
I can't emphasize enough how well this pack carries. With a lingle tightening point adjusting the waist for a changing load is just one pull. The accessory straps carry light body armor or other bulky items, but cleverly stow away if not needed, so they aren't catching or flapping.
The pack will also serve as a great hiking pack or even an around town bag, as it's pretty low key and comfortable. While the pack is light weight, it seems reasonably durable and made with impecable Patagonia quality. I hope the Pagagonia decides to carry this going forward, as I think it is indeed the perfect hip pack.
I have been riding the old hip pack and was quite happy with it but the new Dirt Roamer 3L fits so much tighter and closer to my lower back. Perfect for half day or shorter rides.
