Love the socks. Pricey, but, if I can keep them away from Rustie Spaniel, they should last for years in both casual shoes and Bison Boots.

I bought three pairs of these socks for my husband for our trip to Scandanavia this October. He used the first pair on the flight from SFO to JFK to CPH, second pair he used all day while wolking all over Copenhagen. If the sock had been worn and washed hundred times, yeah maybe you will see it thinning out, not this fast though. I wore my own pair(bought two of the ladies version for myself) two days after, same thing happened. The heel part of the sock is so thin, 2-3 wear would probably develop holes after washing. We haven't washed the socks yet because we are still on our trip.

I have two pairs of these socks and they are absolutely my go-to socks for hiking, skiing, or hanging out. They are soft and medium thickness which makes them a perfect all around sock for most weather conditions.
I like the fit and feel of the socks. However, in one hike, these wool socks did not last long: There were a little bit of pilling w/ 'threadbare.' One sock had a couple of small holes.
