Excellent by itself or as a base layer
I love the silky feel of this fabric as compared to the (less silky) feel of the other capilene and wool-based fabrics currently on offer from Patagonia these days. This fabric works much better as an under-layer. And I think this fabric dries faster than those other fabrics as well. I can't guarantee that, but it seems that way to me. Highly ... I have 4 of these, two hooded and two unhooded. Different colors. They are soft, comfortable in texture, and fit well, except maybe too tight around the neck. I do not like them as a base layer under a mid layer for strenuous activity. They don't seem to wick as well as some other capilene fabrics. Which is my primary complaint. Even worn ... Read Morealone in warm temperatures they do not wick as well as I expected and dry slower than some other synthetic based shirts including some other capilene I own. They work for non strenuous casual activity, but are not optimal at hiking, which is what I primarily do.
I've been wearing these shirts for 20 years
I now have three of them since they don't really wear out, although I have used the Patagonia repair/replace guaranty on other items, and it really is take it to the bank. The designs are good, the wicking is great, the commitment to the environment is more than good--would I recommend it to a friend--yes in fact I did last week.Good job Patag... Read Moreonia!
Solid shirt, but cut too big.
Fit is good across chest and shoulders, but its pretty floppy below that. Awkward fit will limit its usefulness in my life, unfortunately.
Thank you for submitting this review, Jeremy. If that fit turns out to be too bothersome, please feel free to [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html) this shirt.
This is a great garment for all things water. I recently wore it on a three day canoe trip in Olympic National Park. It did a great job at keeping me protected from the sun, warm in the shade, comfortable in the wind and never got sweaty during a hike, all while being quick to dry after splashes and a quick swim. I cant wait to take it on my next a... Read Moredventure and put it to a new test. Snorkeling perhaps?
Just not my cup of tea
Just not my cup of tea. An OK shirt but a little smaller than most of the mediums I wear, the fabric didnt really float my boat, and I wasnt in love with the pattern.

Great material, bothersome fit
The fit is just too long and baggy for me. I'm 6' and 150lbs, and wear size Medium in the standard Capline Cool Daily, which fits me perfectly, but this is a more relaxed fit. It's good in the shoulders but way too long. Whenever I crouched or bent over the back of the shirt would get caught over my backside.
Whoever titled the "Long-Sleeved Capilene® Cool Daily Fish Graphic Shirt" hit the nail on the head; especially the "daily" part. It is absolutely my daily shirt for many reasons. The shirt is super comfortable; it's cool in the heat and sun; it drys in a minute. You can throw a raincoat or R1 over it when the weather chang... Read Morees and be comfortable as can be. I have shirts from several generations and have yet to wear one out or have to toss one that's gotten manky. They are Spartans! The only thing I would change is to revert to a longer sleeve length like some of the old ones. The newer generation is a tad shorter and there's no real upside. Especially when you're extending your arms mountain biking or casting, for example.
Hey Patagonia, fix this!
I am a woman who loves fly fishing. Why do I have to buy a man's shirt to get the fish print on the back. It's a great light-weight sun-blocking shirt. I'm sure men love it, but did you forget women who fish?
Thank you for your review on the Long-Sleeved Capilene Cool Daily Fish Graphic Shirt. While we do have graphic sun protective shirts in our women's line, check them out [here](https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-long-sleeved-capilene-cool-daily-graphic-shirt/45205.html?dwvar_45205_color=RCPE&cgid=collections-sun-protection-womens), you're correct that we do not have this specific fish graphic available. We'll pass your feedback along. In the meantime, if you need measurements we'd be happy to help you decide on which size to buy for this specific shirt, reach out to our customer service team.
Great shirt, but doesn't breath as well as others
This is another high-quality shirt from Patagonia. My only complaint is that it doesn't breath as well as my other Patagonia shirts. However, it is important to note this fabric is a "High SPF" protection, so I'm sure that's a factor. My recommendation would be to sew vents into the underarms and sides for more air flow, th... Perfect shirt (except for mountain biking)
Remember this is an airy super comfortable shirt with an incredibly light weight, but it is not for any sport where you may fall :) This shirt was not a good choice when I took a tumble on the bike (I should have worn elbow pads that day). Love it for everything else.
Best fishing shirt ever.
I bought this shirt for my adult son who moved to Houston this year. he is an avid fisherman and will only wear this type of shirt while flyfishing. It will keep him protected from the sun and yet keep him cool. I buy from you because you recycle and care about the earth
My Favorite Shirt
I found this shirt a few years ago and it was one of the best purchases Ive made. This shirt is cool in the heat and warm in the cold. It fits and looks amazing. Since my first purchase, I have ordered three more and love all of them. I have wrecked many times while mountain biking and I havent ripped the shirt. It is very high quality and I defini... Saves me a lot of sunscreen when I go hiking, running or at the beach. I usually wear medium, but I chose size L for flexibility and comfort specially when I sweat the cloth does not stick. Really cool in summer and I could walk or run for hours in the sun, despite heat and humidity
The large was too big in the body of the shirt so I returned it for a medium which was a much better fit. I should have done the same with a capilene hoody that I bought a few years ago. But I liked it so much that I just wear it in the bulkier size. It's perfect for cool nights at the beach. I'm a fit 6' 185 lbs and your sizing char... Read Morets suggest a large.
I bought one of these at a small outdoor outfitter shop in the NC mountains and I liked it so much that I recently bought another. I bought a large because I like my shirts to have a looser fit and the large in these is probably closer to an XL. These shirts are light and thin yet durable, they wick moisture, and they look great. I can't recom... Read Moremend these shirts more highly.
I love the capilene shirts and use them almost every day. I wish Patagonia would keep the sizes consistent from year to year though. The XL is much longer than prior year versions. It fits perfect except it feels like the sleeves and body are a couple inches longer, which is too long for me since Im not 6 ft 7 inch. Same goes for a few other Patago... Great Set of Gear
I love my Cap Cool Daily shirts. I use then for a wide variety of activities. I workout in them, lounge around the house in them and use them for when I am on the river. The odor control works great, and its nice spending a day on the river and not getting as bad of a sunburn with the help of the sun protection in the shirt.
I first heard of the golden dorado on a Patagonia fly fishing video. I’m not going to say that I vowed that day to buy the first garment that that fish showed up on. But the first day I saw that fish on a garment, I bought it. OK, cool fish. But the shirt is even cooler. I like to say about the best sunwear that it’s like wearing an air conditioner... Kayak Fishing shirt
This is my go to kayak fishing shirt. It is light and perfect for a day (or two) of fishing. I am 6’2 and I purchased the XL and I love the fit.
