Alaska Needs You
More mining and drilling in America's Arctic will push us away from a livable Earth and further into climate chaos. Right now, you can help protect our climate, local communities and biodiversity by asking our government to stop extraction in three areas under threat in Alaska.

Perfect for humid tropical field biology work
This shirt indeed runs large. I normally wear an XS and the fit on this shirt is boxy and very roomy. With that being said it is excellent for working outdoors, hiking in hot, humid, sun exposed and mosquito infested tropical climates. I use this shirt for doing field biology work where temps are 85F+ with high humidity it's one of the best sh... Read Moreirts for breathability, sun protection and mosquito protection! Just wish the fit was more true to size. Also would love a better color selection.
I normally wear a medium in patagonia but this shirt was huge. I will reorder it in a small. The size medium fit in the length of the sleeves and the body, but it was very wide in the chest and collar.

Great shirt but...
I own this shirt from in a plaid from Spring 2020, and absolutely love it for hiking and travel. Doesn't wrinkle, washes and dries easily and is a super comfortable, lightweight fabric that is not showing any signs of wear. I recently purchased the same shirt in white, hoping for something versatile for daily wear. And while the fit and fabric... Read More were the same as my plaid one, I found the white shirt to be too sheer. Whether or not I wore something under it, the pockets on the chest, being double thickness there, looked like big white squares over my breasts. I reluctantly returned it, as I liked everything else about the shirt. The shirt does run large in my opinion, especially through the shoulders. I bought a small in both the plaid and the white and I like the loose "boyfriend" fit of it. I would love to see it made in a solid color that is dark enough not to be sheer.
Hi Sally! Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We're really sorry to hear that the shirt was too shear in white. That said, this feedback is truly appreciated and we'll share this with our design team.
I loved the color of
I loved the color of this shirt, I ordered a medium, but it was more sized like a large and as I tried it on, it was too warm- The label indicated it was made of nylon so it didnt breathe. If it were a cotton blend, it might have been better, I was disappointed and returned it. But loved the color.
Hi Gloria, we're sorry to hear that the Long-Sleeved Sun Stretch Shirt isn't what you expected. Try taking a look at the [Women's Lightweight A/C® Buttondown](https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-lightweight-a-c-buttondown-shirt/54296.html?dwvar_54296_color=ORBI&cgid=root). It's light, breathable and it's made with an organic cotton and hemp blend material.
Cool and Looks Great!
I love this shirt! I just got it in white. I have this shirt in 4 other colors I have bought over the past couple of years. I have worn this shirt hiking in Costa Rican rainforests and walking thru New York City. Its great for both! The fabric is extremely light weight and dries quickly. I have wide shoulders and long arms so it tough to get long e... Read Morenough sleeve length without a ballooning body fit, but this shirt does it! The shirt body is not fitted, its loose enough to be cool, but it does not billow. The collar is nice and can be unfolded to keep out the sun (or bugs) from the back of the neck. The front pockets look very nice. I hope Patagonia keeps making this shirt and offer additional colors! Thank you Patagonia for doing another great job!!!
Perfect summer shirt, seriously.
I did not expect to like this shirt as much as I do. There is something simply amazing about it's airy-ness, quick dry and smooth inner seams. I am not a fan of seams and often invert my shirts at home, (and wish I could get away with it when I leave my home.) Comfy and light sun layer -LOVE it!
Love it so much Ive got multiples! Id been looking for a versatile perfect light button down layer to throw on to run errands, MTB, fish, SUP or trail run in the desert sun. I spend a good portion of my year in the NV desert and this shirt is my new staple! This was just what Id been looking for. The cut wasnt too boxy, even in the medium, and the ... Read Morefabric felt as if it was barely there. I was able to sweat on my long desert runs and the fabric not chafe, nor did it suffocate my skin when I sweated. I ordered 2 more in a smaller size and love them. The size small fits my body much better than the medium I first purchased. I have broad shoulders and long arms and the size small doesnt quite meet my wrists as the medium does, however the size small is a little more fitted.
The coolest shirt
Excellent shirt! I like this shirt very much since it is very comfortable to wear in hot and humid weather and looks really good too. I have literally worn this shirt on a hike in the Costa Rican rainforest and in NYCity. Its a convenient shirt for travel since its easy to launder in the bathroom sink and drip dry overnight in your room.
Lasted the Whole Pacific Crest Trail
I wore this shirt everyday for 5 months on the Pacific Crest Trail. No holes or rips, its a strong shirt. I still wear it while backpacking, has almost 3,000 miles on it. It kept me cool when it was hot and protected me from the sun. I loved the big pockets and hope they never get ride of the Long-Sleeved Sun Stretch Shirt!
Very "cool" shirt
I love this shirt! It is great looking, fits well and is very cool to wear! It's a great shirt to wear when it is very hot and humid; the cut of the shirt allows air circulation and the fabric is very lightweight and sweat evaporates quickly; that's why I call it my cool shirt! I have it in 3 other colors as well.
Lightweight and cool
This shirt is very lightweight and cool. I like to stay covered up outdoors, so this helps on hot days, warm days, sunny days keeping me cool and dry. I purchased two different sizes, small and medium. Small is the better fit, but I love the slightly bigger casual look of the medium.
Light weight, perfect for hot days on the trail!
I love that you're expanding the sizing and fit of your shirts and pants - thank you! This shirt is light and airy, perfect for full coverage sun protection on hot, sunny days. I ordered the lighter color for bug season, which worked well for keeping mosquitos from biting and easy-to-spot ticks. The fabric cleans up well too - even after wear... I Own Four...
I hate writing reviews, and this shirt inspires me to write one. It's comfortable; the sleeves roll up perfectly; the small pocket is just enough for ID and a key; it dries quickly in the tropical heat. Oh, and the little corner is perfect for when your mask fogs or you get saltwater on your sunnies. The sides are lose without being billowy; a... Read Morend, this is one of the few shirts Patagonia makes that actually fits large-breasted women. I don't "gap" in this shirt, and I have that issue in most other shirts this style. If you need an easy, comfortable, cool, and clean-cut shirt to help you work hard - this is YOUR shirt. Seriously, I own four.
Very cool shirt
The Sun Stretch shirt is indispensable. It is great for travel; easy to wash and drip dry in a hotel bathroom, comfortable to wear. It is so light you can hardly feel it when wearing it. Absolutely great for hot and humid climates. Looks just as good and is practical in cities as well as on the trail in the rainforest.
I bought this shirt as a sun/mosquito cover-up for work. (High altitude gardening.) I find myself reaching for it constantly for hiking, and even running. This shirt is *almost* perfect. I love the colors and the style in general. I have an older version that I wear all the time in the hot and humid summer and wanted another lightweight shirt. There are few things from Patagonia that disappoint and this is no exception. You may think I have a general clothes addiction; I do not, but when it comes to Patagonia, I have to admit, I have a problem.... but I have Patagonia products that are over 25 yrs old and still going strong (even a few shirts with frayed collars).
