Extremely comfortable and warm fishing shirt. Has the perfect pockets for fitting a small fly box and tippet. Also a tag to clip nippers to. I love this shirt. Its a little wide but I figured it would be so I could wear it over a base layer or another shirt and not feel constricted.
Cute and comfy
I love this shirt. I would categorize it as a shirt/light sweater, it's made of lightweight, warm fleece. I normally wear a medium top, but after reading the reviews I sized down to a small and it has a nice, slim fit and the arms are still long enough. I got the smolder blue color. I like the snaps on the sleeves, which are easy to roll up, a... Read Morend the durable cuffs and plentiful pockets. Haven't worn it fishing yet, but the pockets will be nice and it the shirt should tuck nicely into waders. So far, I've worn it for travel, work, and as a layer skiing and have gotten lots of compliments. The hood is an after thought - too large, thin, and would definitely not stay up in any sort of breeze.
I bought the shirt based on a review praising the product (seemed special). I wasn't impressed. Nothing special- material seemed thin and the fit was boxy and not flattering (disclaimer: I have broad shoulders so in order to fit my shoulders I need to size up and therefore some shirts will not fit my body).

Cozy with Large Hood
Soft pullover with generous chest pockets and an oversized hood. Perfect for cold days on the boat. The reinforced cuff protection keeps the sleeves from getting matted up and dirty. My only request is that it also had a front hoody pocket, but the coverage all around is nice. Recommend!
soft and tough
This is a great work shirt for me. I like wearing it while cutting wood and doing outside chores. It is light enough to wear paddling or hiking, but I would not take it backpacking. I initially purchased a size Large and returned it for a Medium. For reference, I am almost 5'3, 150lbs and usually wear size Large in Patagonia jackets and size M... I just received the Early Rise shirt. At first I was a bit disappointed that the hood really did not fit snug around the head and then I got covid! The hoody aspect came in perfectly, so comforting to just block out and heal. The fabric is so comfortable I have been living in it as I recover. When I put it in the wash; I missed it! I get the critic... Read Moreisms about the pockets not being on the side, but when I think it is intended to be shirt, it makes a whole lot of sense. Fabulous! I ordered another just to be cozy all the time! The designers at Patagonia hit this out of the ballpark!
Nice cozy coverage!
I am 155 lbs and was concerned it might be tight around the hips. But no, it is perfect. Really enjoying the butt coverage and subtle colors to wear with khakis. Thanks Patagonia, for taking a stand on the environment and changing capitalism. I only buy Patagonia clothes until further notice!
Cozy fleece with style
This is the perfect layer for crisp fall mornings when you want to stay warm and be active in the elements. Love the fun color options and the reinforced trim and the hood. Perfect layer for campground coffee, morning dog walk or fall soccer support team. Great layer!
Comfy cozy (and cute) pullover fleece
I really like this fleece! Its great for any activity and the pockets on the front are great and the hood is very functional. My only wish is that it had pockets on the sides. I originally purchased a medium but it was too big so I exchanged for a small. The small is still roomy and I could wear an xs if I wanted it to be more fitted. Im about 145l... Hey Brianna, we're sorry it didn't work out with this shirt. It is intended to have a tunic style fit, as outlined in the "Specs & Features" tab. We recommend always reading through this section of the product page to give you a better idea of what to expect. For a similar style with a shorter fit, we recommend checking out the [Women's Microdini Fleece Hoody](https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-microdini-fleece-hoody/26270.html?dwvar_26270_color=PLGY&cgid=womens-fleece).
Warm and light
I got this in the summer thinking I'd use it later in the fall, but then I was up in northern Maine for work and was really glad I brought it along for those first chilly nights. It's nice and lightweight, but nicely warm on chilly, rainy mornings. Dries reasonably quickly (unless you drench it, like I did one day). The cuff material is d... Read Moreifferent, but okay. And the colors on the pink/green version seem different/lighter than in the pictures, but I still like them. Overall, this one is definitely staying in the pack throughout the fall season. I'm hoping it'll continue to layer really well into the winter, too.
I think this product is great. My partner, the fisher, also really appreciates the fit bit thought that the best version would include a drawstring on the hood and the nylon reinforcements on the shoulder for water drips. Otherwise, the cuffs are real well done and the size is perfect including length
The hood is weird
If you like the length of the hoodie king then great, Id say it runs a little too long. The hood is also quite useless.

We're truly sorry to hear our Women's Long-Sleeved Early Rise Shirt hood was too big. We went ahead and reached out to you via email to offer some help with your return. We also passed your thoughts along to our Design Team. Thank you so much for your feedback.
I bought this with the intention of layering it for cold weather. Im 57 and 155lbs with a 36DDD chest and it fit comfortably with some room for maneuvering and breathing. I do recommend it even though its pricey. The hood is handy as is the zipper pocket on the chest. Its stylish and long in the torso which is good for hiking and leggings. I do rec... Perfectly Warm and Comfortable
59, 135 lbs and it fits really well. Not too tight not too baggy, sleeves arent too short (which is often true for me). Warm enough to wear on its own but can also be layered. Its really well constructed. Only issue, I wish it had pockets on the sides for my always freezing hands.
Comfort at its finest
I bought this because I thought it would be a fun addition but didn't think I would get the use out of it as much as I would with technical pieces. Its my favorite, go to, fleece for the past few weeks, who knew! I wear it at work, maybe too much, but I love it! It fits perfect in the arms and shoulder and is a semi-slender fit which provides ... Read Moremore comfort. I love the fish patch on the right wrist!
I ordered this as a looser mid-layer to fit over larger shirts like flannels without bunching tight in the armpits, and it works perfectly! I love wearing it around the house to keep warm and recently discovered it also works great for snowsports! Dries quickly, fits past my hips so stays tucked in to my snow pants, and its breathable. The pockets ... Read Morework good for carrying chapstick and light things (they are actually large enough for my phone but having a heavy thing there pulls it all down). Hand pockets would have been nice but I still love it. Im usually torn between XS and S, but glad I went with the S for looser layering.
I didn't realize at the time the material around the wrist is sturdier than fleece and it's a great addition and harder to get dirty. If this had pockets at the waist, this would be the perfect WFH shirt. I imagine mountain biking with this as a layer would be great too!
Snuggly and warm
This shirt/sweater is very soft and very warm for its weight which I consider to be a light fleece. It runs big and loose. Great if you want to layer under it. Very relaxed fit. Personally would prefer it to have been just slightly more fitted since the material isn't slick. Great features and pockets too.
Wide and long
This shirt is cut really big more like a tunic length and extra wide. The hood is over helmet size. I usually wear mens shirts because my shoulders are wide and I ordered a medium so I could use it as a tech layer. The fabric feels great and I wish it fit. So big it is unusable and had to return.
